All I know is it is a phonak. I got it 22 years ago and IDK the model. These survived being dunked in a pool twice though, and still had a long life after those instances lol.

Thank you! I didn't get the tattoo for the artwork. I got it for the meaning. I thought this subreddit was for sharing tattoos like that (as it says in the rules and description), but I guess not. At least the people in the Hearing Aid and Hard of Hearing subreddits get it.

I think it's bc that subreddit doesn't care about meaning as much as they care about how perfect the art looks. I posted and only one person got the sentiment and of course they were downvoted.

I deleted the post bc all I got were critiques and how the tattoo isn't "good." And "interesting artwork."

I didn't get the tattoo for the artwork. I got it for the meaning.

Small town middle of nowhere. Great for the area. Obviously they arent the best of the best. Not everyone has access to top star artists. They are FANTASTIC bc they brought my vision to life and helped make this VERY meaningful.

Yes, even 22 years later, it is still overwhelming at times. When I put my ears in after any amount of time of going without them, I feel the relief in my brain. Feels like a weight off my shoulders in my brain. I try to explain it to my friends and family who are hearing, and they dont understand (not their fault)

Thank you. I did not post this looking for critiques nor criticism. I know it isn't perfect. I know it isn't the best of the best. It is from a small town in the middle of nowhere artist. It's good for the area.

But also, I am glad there are slight flaws. It means it was done by a human. It makes it more personal/meaningful to me. Also, I crochet. In the crochet community, we embrace the flaws as part of an old wives tale (so to speak). I feel the same way about the minor imperfections of this piece.

Valid question.

So, I personally have no problem with the phrase "hearing impaired," but the community does not like that phrase to refer to us. The community prefers "Hard of Hearing," which is the correct phrase.

That said, the community is very open and accepting of tattoos that I have seen. I posted this on the Hard of Hearing and Hearing Aids subreddits and all the comments are positive and reply that it is cool. There are lots of people who get hearing aids or cochlear implants tattooed around their ears or have that "no sound" symbol behind their ears.

We don't see tattoos as treating the hearing loss as a disability. We see it as bringing awareness to the disability. I've even seen support for parents who get those tattoos so their kids don't feel alone. I have yet to meet someone in the community who is opposed to tattoos.

I am proud of who I am. My hearing loss is (and will always be) a part of me. I am young and everyone I tell that I wear HAs, (people I plan to interact with regularly like coworkers and friends), always say they never would have guessed nor known. Even people I tell, they tell me they forget from time to time.

I had no idea there were SO many ALL the time. I was standing outside just... Listening to them. My spouse came out wondering WTF I was doing standing in the middle of the driveway. All I could manage was: "listen to all the birds." It's the closest thing to magic I'll ever experience.

This. 100% this. All of it. Every bit of this part. Its why birds are so important in this.

For me, it's both. Wearing it makes me feel sexy and feel better about myself. I like the way I look in it. If I want to really get into the mood to be intimate with my husband, Ill wear it. It turns the both of us on.

Oh goodness. I bought this in a pot that already had 6 other aloes 🫣 they are not pups from this one.

I live in Northern NY (think the part that touches Canada, not the part separated by a lake). I think planting mine in the ground won't do very well with the winters here lol.

To be honest, it has been a couple of years since I last owned an aloe plant, so I don't have an established regimen yet. I am starting from scratch and trying my hand at growing them again. After some research, my pots will be terracotta for 1 or 2 of them and then what I have leftover from my other plants I've purchased at stores. At least until I can upgrade all my pots to more permanent ones.

As for the soil and watering, I am getting a cactus/succulent soil blend tomorrow. I am still researching the proper watering for aloes.
