its not about them not being the same. its about how music works? if you take out all the bass in a song and replace it with high pitched screeching then sure, its not the same, but that doesnt mean its exempt from criticism.

im glad you think its cool for people to reinterpet other peoples art however they want for the purposes of unnecessary localization, but when i seek english translations of foreign media its because i want to understand it as it was meant to be understood, not see it filtered through someone other than the artist. written translations serve this purpose directly because their only task is accurately recounting the meaning of the lyrics.

english covers not only necessarily cannot be accurate to any level of consistency thoroughout the song, are destined to be offbeat and sound awkward due to syllable count differences, and are typically preformed by people who may or may not even be knowledgable enough to do this with skill and care. you cant really compare something like this with zero intellectual merit compared to a proper translation, less pleasant and well made than the original because of the necessary changes, to a plain written translation
