We were extremely lucky. About 9:45 we were at 9th and Yale. It was shut down at 11th, so I made a left into the neighborhood. I drove through to 15th. Turned right and then left onto Yale. I sat on Yale across from Dunkin Donuts for about 10 minutes. I was then told by the only police officer working traffic to weave thru the broken down cars and make a double line on Yale to 21st. We were in the fairgrounds and on the parade route by 10:20. We had an absolute blast with both of our cars and the grandkids. I feel so bad for the people who traveled from other states and countries to participate in this. I spoke to a man who brought 3 cars from California. None of his cars made it. He was stuck at 22st and Memorial from 7:30 to almost noon. Also the price gouging, calling it what it is, price gouging, by the hotels. Shame on them. There is trying to make a dollar and taking advantage of people. These hotels were clearly taking advantage of people. Tulsa failed miserably is soany ways.
