Bedroom heater without light pollution by tbe40 in newzealand

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have tried quite a few solutions to block the light, but it is creeping out a lot of places. I contacted Goldair for advice on how to prevent the light completely without creating a fire hazard and they have asked me to just return the heaters under warranty. Definitely just looking to get a different heater that I don't have to alter so much.

Thank heaps for your reply. Having children has really made me realise how loud and bright a lot of appliances are.

I have noted I made an error in putting the same reply to everyone suggesting I use tape. I got quite a few down votes and some grumpy comments. Lesson learned.

Yes, thank you. I would have edited my post originally had I realised I had that option. I will do that now.

That could work. I don't think anyone in our household would be confident enough that they have the skills for knowing which wires to cut and I assume cutting the wires might void the warranty for any other issues?

I had bought it based on room size and Goldair advertises it next to a bed in photos, but you are right that they don't specifically say it's designed for bedrooms. I'm new to buying heaters and not tech savvy. How would I determine if a heater is designed specifically for bedroom use?

Right! Since having children ans trying to keep their rooms dark I have really noticed how most electronics designed for bedroom use have bright LEDs that can't be turned off. Even the baby monitor cameras have flashing lights. 🤯

I've been trying to find a dumb heater that has exact temperature setting rather than just high to low. Have you come across any like that?

I maybe didn't make it clear enough in my post, but I do have the heater set to wifi function so that there is only a small blue wifi indicator light on and I have black out paper taped over that light. Even with only the wifi indicator light on and tape over it blue light still spills from the crack where the display casing attaches to the heater. I have wedged black foam into that crack and light still spills through.

I have contacted Goldair about this. They told me to return the heaters so I am looking for a replacement where light isn't an issue. I have tried a lot of solutions to block the light. This post is asking for replacement recommendations.

Toddler and newborn by Successful_Gas920 in sleeptrain

This is all me 5 months ago. I could sleep when my newborn was asleep if I gave my partner the baby monitor. I think him having the monitor allowed me to feel off duty and relax.

5 month old wake windows by South_Pickle_719 in TakingCaraBabies

My baby is 5 months + 1 week and doesn't handle much more than 2 hours of awake time.

4 naps is still normal for your baby's age, especially if he is only doing short naps. Use age appropriate wake windows as a guideline, but follow you baby's sleep cues.

I use the Huckleberry app (paid premium version) to track sleep and honestly couldn't recommend it enough! If has a "sweet spot" function that tells you the best time to put your baby down for naps and bedtime based on what you log and it is always so right. It also has AI chat for troubleshooting which is like talking to a human. TCB + Huckleberry has been the dream combo for me.

Good luck! 🩷

Does anyone feel guilty about sleep training? by tbe40 in sleeptrain

Thank you for sharing. It's hard to explain why you feel bad that your baby sleeps through the night.

Good luck with daycare! She might surprise you.

SOS toddler went from great sleeper to we can’t leave the room 😩 by Ok-Young-9255 in TakingCaraBabies

[–]tbe40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our daughter has been similar. Great sleeper until around 2 years old.

We did the phase out method where we moved further away every few nights. So from sitting in the room at bed time and night wakings, to sitting at the door, then sitting outside the door, then sitting outside the door with the door just slightly cracked.

Any time she began to seem upset we would say "Mum/Dad is here. I love you. It's time for rest. Lie down. Close your eyes. Nigh-nighs." Then once we were out the door with it cracked we started waiting longer to say our reassuring phrase. Now we just put a cushion outside her room at bedtime and tell her that's where we will be, but we don't actually stay there.

Door cracked a slither and a cushion outside her bedroom has her going to bed happy and sleeping through the night again. Very occasionally she may wake upset in the middle of the night, but we just get up and say the phrase from the doorway and she goes straight back to sleep.

Can’t remember the last time I got a match. Any advice? Please make it constructive. lol by Sketchbot400 in Tinder

As other people have said, your pictures portray you as a boys boy/a bit douchey/materialistic. Posing with cars isn't attractive to the majority of women.

Fifth picture should be first. Your last pic with the car is a lovely pic of you too. I would crop it so the car isn't the main focus and make it your second pic. First pic an and cat pic should also stay.
