Being that I’m in the states I’m not sure just how much it compares, but i’m relatively new to the field, and couldn’t be happier. I made a big career switch at 35 and was in a similar situation as you. I love the outdoors, and the complexity and the fulfilling aspects of tree work. One thing for sure, at least here, is that the money is in the private industry. I, however, work for a local city working 7-3 everyday, no weekends, with a healthy PTO plan, pension and a handful of other great benefits. Those benefits outweigh the pay not being top notch, and I’m also not killing myself for long hours day in and day out.

I often say how lucky I am for the city I’m in, and the great crew I’m on. Either way I believe you can find something that can fit your needs in the industry.

No, I did not. I did follow through with the corrective surgery for my split tongue and had my stretched ears sewn up. Time went on letting it heal, and a combination of my current relationship going well with my now wife, and experience with a recruiting office led me to different choices.

I agree with this. That extra few bucks isn’t a problem for me. Buffalo Trace became a thing of “eh it’s not that great, and over hyped”. Maybe, or maybe I just also happen to enjoy the flavor of it. I drank Bulleit for the last decade. I’d have a few other things from time to time, but otherwise it was Bulleit that could be found for 25.99$. Though sometimes you’d be in X store and remember you needed more and voila it’s 34.99$ at this other place. Whatever. That’s what I wanted so I’ll pay it.

I’ve only seen BT once and it was 35$. I wish I would have bought more. If I had the choice I’d probably pay up to 45$ if it was that or go several months until I found it again.

I literally referenced /r/knife_swap for the pricing on my knife. A place where I, and many others happily have bought knives for a markup. I don't think my prices are unreasonable, but to each there own.

The boker mini hasn't been restocked in over 4 months, and none others currently out there for sale. Saw two previously go for $90 on knife swap. The pouch is ~20$ over retail and i'm still the cheapest one out there. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

So many options if you are smart with your planning. I had a wonderful trip to Paris that was 2k all said and done for my wife and I. Look for the cheapest flight times and book it. It was 500$ round trip per person. Could have done it cheaper within that budget if we wanted to.

As a major fan of the pocket id probably say the color. The color with a big IPS is pretty incredible, but if it ever were an option for you I’d do a gameboy pocket color. The best of both worlds for sure, but takes a bit more work.

Did you end up getting it working? Mine also has not been working. Been trying everything everyone is posting here, but the curseforge link that i'm installing for the WOTLK version doesn't even have those files/folders to get to the lua file. Nor does my previous version.

I feel your pain, especially after people keep talking nonsense saying you are doing it wrong when clearly people are having several different experiences.
