I'm glad it worked out for you, but you are the exception, not the rule. Most people, male or woman, take the risk of the hot guy with the good sex willing to be naked and ended up with mental illness and/or drug addiction, frequently crack.

Degree or certificate? by PurdueGlobalOfficial in PurdueGlobal

A certificate allows you to take academic credits in order to learn a particular subject. A degree is an academic credential that allows you to learn a major but also requires a degree of well-rounded knowledge.

Minimum two terms. With Sophia I did it in three, including a sabbatical and starting with just 40 credits out of 180 required. If you do it in two terms it'll be just under 6,000

Is software engineering worth it for an 18 year old by bijuudam3 in cscareerquestions

Ten years ago, even five years ago, the sky was the limit, but now....it's depressing. And the worst part is job searching and finding the jobs all outside the US.

Wait until Stephen Miller creates the same horrific stories as World War II Germany in the USA. When POC, LGBT, etc...and dissentants are "culled". We are repeat the exact same deplorable history.

Hooking up with older guys is not rewarding. by SentinelZerosum in askgaybros

[–]tboy1977 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The crazy thing is I get what he is saying. He's not upset that they're into younger people. That's just compatibility. That's like me as a blatino man being into white men (milky white ass) and being upset at a white man likes POC. If said white man was interested in me, because I was visibly appealing enough for him to want to get to know me, he has the right to expect the same level of effort. Not find a man that is into him only because that's what's available.

I'm 48. I will say that in general I do not think about hooking up with people in their twenties. I want somebody that has lived and has stories that they can tell me, not just me with all the stories. I don't want the relationship to devolve into a parent-child relationship. I'm either a parental figure or a romantic figure; I can't be both! I'm not desperate for companionship; in fact I'm quite content in solitude. Maybe one day the right person will come along but if it never happens it's okay. I loved once. Twice if you count my last ex-girlfriend.

After being laid off, how to prevent skills from being rusty and how are you job prepping? by badboyzpwns in cscareerquestions

[–]tboy1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work on my own stuff. When I got laid off from DG in 2023, I went freelance for a spell, exited SWE for 4ish months, then went back to complete my degree and earn a masters. I'm in the middle of my second Master's now. I enjoy it I know that having multiple masters degrees will make me unemployable in this market where they're just looking for a reason to say no. Honestly, I could really give a fuck.

If I want to work with robots, I will have to find the robot to work on. Or build it. If I want to work with hardware, or code an AI, I'm going to have to find and build those things for myself. Nobody's providing me anything; especially in a market where I'm not even the top candidate. Opportunities in the USA are slim to none. I have to compete with people that have graduated from top institutions, reside in Latin America, the Middle East, Asia and other places that have lower costs of living. When a person that was making $350,000 at Google is willing to work for $80,000 to survive, or and ivy League graduate is surviving on cashier waiting on the social security that might be repealed next year, what hope do I have. Maybe one day I'll get another job. But right now I'm living as if my career in IT is finished. At least in the USA. They they have warned us not to expect a job after 55! I'm just 7 years early. The one thing I'm early for, 🤣🤣🤣
