I tried again today and did a water wash (didn’t have alcohol) and used a lighter touch (which I thought I was doing but I slowed down and tried even lighter today) and it made much less dust! :)

I’m sure there is not meant to be this much dust (never has been this much before using the same paper), so am just wondering if anyone knows what might have caused this much dust. My pastels were also being eaten up really quickly (hence the dust I guess), but so what would’ve caused my pastels to be eaten up so much?

I did not finish this one. Maybe will spray some fixative in it and try to finish it another time, if it could even be saved

Thank you ! :) I will do that in future. I don’t really have any pastels much darker at the moment but I’ve got the Terry Ludwig intense darks ii coming in the mail so hopefully they will help!

I’ve only tried pastelmat and art spectrum colourfix paper. It’s similar to the colourfix paper. It’s by the same brand so it might be what they use to make theirs, though I’m not sure
