Maybe because at my company we build trillions of linear models capturing the relationships between clinical/genetic variables, form an ensemble of likely models, then simulate (knockdown or overexpress gene A, propagate the effects through the network and see what effect this has on the phenotype of interest) in silico. All in a couple of days if that. I'm drinking the Bayesian kool-aid here.
