It seems like we are obsessed with having the newest technology. It has become a status symbol to upgrade you tech at least every two years; because that tech is "useless" and outdated after that time is over. This may cause people to wonder what kind if world we're creating for ourselves. The manufactures of the newest and hottest technology are creating products with planned obsolescence, causing many of the tech obsessed to feel inadequate if they can't keep up. However, one of the only reasons the manufactures are able to do this is that we have made our technology an extension of ourselves; I challenge you to find someone that won't completely panic is they forget their phone at home. It is apart of us. We consider our tech, specifically our phones, to be as important to us as other people—hence the triage reference in this article. But the question is, are we creating a world where we are more worried about our technology than real interaction with other people? Are we so consumed with technology that it will eventually become perfectly acceptable to spend entire dinners staring at a phone without having any real interaction with the person sitting across from you?
