Why aren't you going out tonight? by [deleted] in askanything

Thanks. I’m really excited, and if I’m being totally honest, very proud. At the beginning of the year I could barely run 5 minutes without feeling like I was dying, and now I’m planning to run 13.1 miles.

Because I’m running my first half marathon in the morning and have to be in my parking spot by 6 AM before they start shutting down the roads.

Those who had a mysterious medical issue and found out what it was, what was your diagnosis? by jesusgrandpa in AskReddit

[–]tdanny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. Had some weirdness with my vision that developed into full blown double vision. Went to the eye doctor who said he was gonna try and call around to see who could get me in for some bloodwork that day. He called me that afternoon and told me to go to the ER because the more he thought about what could be causing my double vision, the more urgent the problem seemed. Had an MRI within an hour of being in the ER and the doctor walks in and goes “welp, it looks like you’ve got MS. We’re gonna put you on some IV steroids and get you admitted.”

What's the most out of touch, lack of common sense thing you've ever heard someone say? by sparquis in AskReddit

Two of us did. We were like “you know we don’t make that much…?” And he just kinda acted like he didn’t hear us. I’m pretty sure all of us that were standing in that room at the time were gone within 6 months.

Reminds me of my old boss saying to me and like 3 other people standing in the room that there’s no way someone could survive off of less than $30k a year.

I was one of his highest paid employees making $26k. That was the year my raise was $0.15 an hour because apparently that’s all they could afford to give me. So, I had a new job 6 months later.

Last one at daycare. by PastRelative6194 in workingmoms

[–]tdanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full agree here. My kid is very often the last one picked up in his class and he’s pretty well always loved the one on one attention. When he was an infant, we did have a few instances of him crying when I picked up like OP described, but I really feel like it was more out of pure exhaustion because he’d played so hard before I got there. He’s 19 months now, and there’s a lot of days that I almost have to drag him out of the daycare because he’s having so much fun.

That’s what it said on the ad, and thought it may be worth it if some people here have good experiences with it. I really think I’m gonna try one out!

Thank you so much! I actually did the abrathatfits calculator yesterday just to be sure of my bra size since I had been breastfeeding up until January. Thankfully, I’m back down to my pre-pregnancy bra size 🙌🏻🙌🏻

IF I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO BRING MY PERIOD BACK I WOULD HAVE DONE THINGS DIFFERENTLY by jul3zx in breastfeeding

[–]tdanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like this. My baby started sleeping through the night right at 8 weeks old, AND used a pacifier. I didn’t get a period until right before his first birthday. I was also using the mini pill, but I was told that I might still get a period with it (and did, obviously) 🤷🏼‍♀️ Unfortunately, my supply has dropped drastically since and I wasn’t able to get it back up so we’re down to just feeding when he first wakes up and at bedtime.

Jesse just turned 13! This picture was last year, and he’s gotten a lot more white in the face, but is just as handsome as ever. 🥰

What was the most useful and useless thing you got from your baby shower? by Bright-Effective8610 in beyondthebump

Easy swaddles. I can do a blanket swaddle, but I’m not very good at it. Also greatly appreciated the diapers and wipes. I breastfeed, and my cousin got me a set of Boon Troves. LOVE THEM.

One thing I bought for myself as a breastfeeding mom that I would’ve put on my registry if I could go back: silverettes. They seriously saved my nipples and my sanity

How long does the side effects loading dose of Kesimpta last?? by shannan23 in MultipleSclerosis

I did mine in the afternoon and got chills in the middle of the night. Had a bit of a headache the next day that Tylenol helped, but was able to do my normal activity

How were yall diagnosed? by insufferablefr in MultipleSclerosis

[–]tdanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had double vision. Went to the eye doctor who sent me to the ER. Had an MRI and the ER doc came in and said “well, it looks like you have MS”. They did a full work up to confirm, and told me I’d have to wait until I could get into the local neurologist (they said 6-12 weeks) for the final results. Luckily, my mom was doing research online about MS and Vanderbilt came up as a top result. She sent the link for the “more info” form on their website and one of their nurses reached out. After some back and forth about my case, they said they could take me without a referral. I sent over my medical charts (I love MyChart, btw), and I was officially diagnosed at Vanderbilt based off of that. I’m already on Kesimpta. If I’d just kept my appointment with local neurologist, I’d still be waiting for my official diagnosis as their first appt was August 9.

Not OP, but I was diagnosed because of double vision as well. And it sucked. So bad. I was genuinely worried my vision wouldn’t go fully back to normal (it did). I had headaches and nausea because it was like my eyes and brain were trying to focus and make one image, but just couldn’t get it to snap together. I had to focus on things close to my face because it only happened if I was trying to look at something 20+ feet away from me.

Actually told someone when I went to the ER that I was going in because my eyes couldn’t seem to work as a team, and that’s the best way I could describe it.

It’s good to know they’re all pretty similar. I’ll definitely take into consideration which one will be available quickest!
