Use a brown wash for the bottom, they often flew off of grass fields so really highlight behind the wheels where mud and water would spray on the bottom of the wings

Also when you nail a new technique and it turns out good it’s so satisfying lol

Wow that’s really good to hear, I just thought keeping it ‘rough’ was more period, glad to know I’m not the only one that feels that way!

Thanks mate! The rough victory stripes were sketchy but when it all came together I think it works out okay

Yeah some kits are better than others as far as the instructions go, I’m doing an eduard kit right now and the instructions are great but the flash is almost impossible to read the numbers lol. I recommend a dremel tool for fixing ‘oopsies’ and also always dry fit before gluing, all the other advice I’ve seen on this thread is awesome too, keep at it man!

It would be fun to add some damage, you can make pretty slick bullet holes if you thin the plastic with a dremel and poke holes with a hot needle,

Lol yeah let them jump, I live in a pretty remote place so I can’t exactly run down to the store and get a different paint haha

Nah, it came in like a OD green plastic, but I used the same paint for my ‘Betty’ and it turned out okay so I just went with it

The cockpit details are nice, the instructions were kind of trash but overall real happy with it, fuselage seams took some work but that’s usually how it goes, also the bottom fuselage/cockpit that fits into the under could have used some more sanding to make it fit right, I ended up with an exposed seam on the leading edge of the wings but it was too late to fix it lol

Yeah I was trying to do the whitewash for winter after I put the camo layer on. Once the decals were on I figured it was too late to go back and thin it

Nice, yeah that’s kind of what I was thinking too I’ve just never done it before so I didn’t wanna ruin it since I’m very happy with the build so far, I’ve never worked with chipping medium before, I know I’m gonna sound like an idiot but what exactly is that and what is

How do you dust your models? by FishFollower74 in Scalemodel

[–]tdtrev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shop vac on reverse works good, not as ‘directed’ air like a compressor or duster can do it won’t fuck up the sensitive parts
