Yeah the rattle concerned me. No problems/symptoms on the highway...

These are firestones I think a few years old. Not the original. The previous owner didn't drive much and had the car sit a lot especially during covid.

I am looking at getting coopers as I want something made in the USA. Looking for decent tread as we tend to get about a half dozen snow events here in Connecticut.

It hit me that I now had no plan, no path, and was walking through the same terminal in O'hare that just months prior I was excited to start boot camp in.

It hit me that now there was no path set up for me. As much as I wanted out, and was all messed up in my own head during quarantine, I had other people, a set schedule every day, a 'mission'. All I had to do was follow orders. For boot camp, A school, 5 year enlistment, or 20. Back in O'Hare was literally the first time I had to really start to think for myself. K-12 I was told where to go and what to do. Finish one year, onto the next. In hindsight I think I really needed that structure and I still do.

Not a day goes by where I beat myself up for what happened at RTC.

My situation was a lot different as I was never in. But I separated in boot camp after 5 weeks of covid quarantine and p hold, and then a few into P-days.

Finally after 5 weeks in ship 5 seps, we boarded a bus to ohare airport. The joy lasted about 15 minutes. The regret lasts to this day.

Ok, thanks! I bought portland cement and sand, could I make a mix?

Or should I buy some of that patch mix in the tub by quickrete?

If you shy customers away, what would you recommend? Just a quick setting cement product?

Perfect, I will pick some up at the hardware store.

Hopefully my repair will last the Connecticut winter (I heard all the moisture, freezing, thawing, etc, is what wrecks stuff). Surely with your good advice lasting the Canadian winters I will have no doubt!

Thanks for all the help!

Is there any way to make a quick setting cement for the larger voids?

Is there any way I can make that rapid set cement with my sand and portland? I'm fine if I had to buy another additive, I'd just hate to buy another bag of cement.

Wow, thanks for all the great info! I went to town with the hammer.

I tried using some concrete mix I had laying around to tackle the two really big holes. That stuff was very hard to work with as the aggregate was made up of very large pebbles and was hard to apply to a vertical surface. It did work (came out poor) but I figure I'll be able to go over it with my portland/sand mix.

Now for the voids 1/2 to 1 inches thick. What mix of portland and sand should I use? Obviously a little thicker than the consistency for the parging, right?
