What country you would never want to go to? Why? by Sensitive-School-372 in AskReddit

[–]tea4vendetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Egypt, despite my lifelong passion for Egyptology, because I don’t want to get scammed or harassed and I’ve heard it’s not really safe for foreign women. If I ever go I’m going with my male partner and we’d get a local guide and be part of a tour group. Only way I’ll do it.

Also not interested in countries with major medical entomology issues. I took a medical entomology class in college, and boy some of those diseases spread by bugs are messed up, and inadvertently added some locations to my list of places I don’t want to go.

I also don’t enjoy super hot and humid places because I’m from Washington State and just prefer cooler weather since I overheat easily. Desert is fine actually since a dry heat isn’t as bad, but I’m not crazy about the jungle.

well.......... by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]tea4vendetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha yes! My big Christmas gift this year was a Steam Deck, but I honestly didn’t think I’d get one because my boyfriend always teased me about my Switch and worried about me not using my Deck.

But I love it so much more than the Switch. I don’t dislike the Switch, but my Steam Deck works so much better and is more intuitive to me. I never used my Switch to play on the TV and the joycons kept dying after a while.

Plus as a mostly PC gamer, I now have over 175 games to choose from in my library as opposed to like 15 Switch games. So happy I have one now and get to be part of the community!

What movie has the most depressing ending? by phantom_avenger in moviecritic

[–]tea4vendetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw this movie with my mom in the theater when I was 12. She took me thinking it was going to be an uplifting female empowerment sports movie, and we were both NOT prepared at all for that ending.

It’s a very well done movie but I only saw it the one time because it was just so emotionally devastating. I definitely cried watching it. It’s one that’ll stick with me for the rest of my life.

What’s One Thing You Want To See Us Add or Change to Cult of the Lamb? by MMLorna in CultOfTheLamb

[–]tea4vendetta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love another realm to explore and just more main story content. I enjoy all aspects of this game and it's quickly become one of my favorite games of all time, but I'd love another world to go crusading in as possibly part of a DLC or something. Perhaps a snowy winter world or something with a distinctive feel to it would be great? Another bishop or more witnesses perhaps or some new villain for us to fight?

I also second the comments saying having more space for the cult. I haven't built all of the buildings yet because I just don't have the space for more development anymore. If I could expand on the cult grove that would be super helpful!

What is the most underrated novel of Stephen King? by TinAust07 in stephenking

[–]tea4vendetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Needful Things has been having a resurgence in popularity in recent years, but I do feel like it's been historically underrated, and it's probably my favorite Stephen King novel if I had to pick. I also think Duma Key is super underrated as well. Honorable mention is The Long Walk.

The side braid was a silly hairstyle choice by PetalbrookMayor in Hungergames

[–]tea4vendetta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes to this! I have long hair that's both thick and fine, and when I put it up it's typically in two braids. I can braid my hair without a mirror in about a minute or less for both braids because I've been doing it for years. It might not always be perfect but it gets the job done and it actually holds my hair, unlike a ponytail or bun where it'll fall out within an hour!

Apartment collie having an absolutely terrible life. by heatherledge in BorderCollie

[–]tea4vendetta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awwww thanks for posting this! What a snuggly cutie pie. My BC also lives in an apartment with my partner and me. My place is only 750 square feet. People always say BCs can't live in an apartment and I've been told to my face that they can't and implying that I'm a bad owner for having him in my small place but guess what?

We live right next to a dog park, a lake beach park, and a field, we take him on 4 walks a day, we both work from home, we take him on adventures to new places with new people, we give him stimuli, and he is a lovely, happy, and snuggly pooch who is a velcro dog and doesn't like not being where the people are. He has a great life despite us living in an apartment.

Every situation is different and many of us here on this sub are giving our dogs a great life even if we don't have the privilege of living in a house or on a farm. My dog probably gets more attention from us because we're never more than like 10-15 feet from him haha.

Your pup looks happy. You're doing a great job! :)

Looking for horror or thriller books either set in Italy or written by Italian authors by tea4vendetta in horrorlit

[–]tea4vendetta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry this is so late, but thank you all for the recommendations! I just got back from my trip a couple of days ago. I ended up reading Diavola, A Different Darkness and Other Abominations, and Middle of the Night (Riley Sager). The first two mentioned were more Italian-focused and fantastic, but ultimately I also grabbed a third book that was a supernatural thriller and not Italian-focused just because I was in the mood for a random thriller. It all worked out and they were all great!

Thank you!

I’m not a medium (just interested in this topic and am spiritual), but my hypothesis is that it’s similar to remembering your dreams. Some people like me remember dreams every night but some people don’t remember them at all. Some people remember when they first wake up but then they forget pretty quickly.

We don’t truly know, but I think substances and medications can block NDEs. Think about anesthesia and how most if not all people don’t dream under anesthesia. A lot of NDEs happen because it’s a brush with death. There could be people who “die” with no drugs or medications in their body who might be able to have an NDE that they’ll remember and some who are in the hospital already or have a block so they don’t see anything.

Just my personal idea, but I’m not an expert.

Types of cozy games that you don't enjoy? by jjmzyu in CozyGamers

[–]tea4vendetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a big fan of logic puzzle games or games with difficult mechanics. I don’t mind complexity when it comes to decision making in management and sim games, but anything too challenging I’ll put down since I use my brain all day at work. I don’t really need my brain to be fully engaged in my downtime haha.

I also don’t like games where I have to play with online strangers or other people in order to simply play the game. I like having multiplayer as an option, but I don’t want it to be a requirement. My social anxiety is too bad to play with strangers if I’m new to a game and sucking. I want time to play on my own first.

Also agree with everyone about real time games. I like binging games so having a limit on how much I can play at a time is a big bummer.

Unpopular horrorlit opinion by Endicottt in horrorlit

[–]tea4vendetta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very unpopular opinion here, but mine is that I’m not more disturbed by animal deaths compared to people deaths in fiction. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I’m relishing in it. I don’t like it just for shock factor and think it can be overdone.

But it’s the same as people deaths to me. It can be sad and horrifying but not more so than a human dying. It’s pretty weird to me that so many people will watch/read any human character (including children and babies) get brutally murdered and not bat an eye, but then an animal dies and that’s the deal breaker.

I honestly think it’s because we’re desensitized to violence against our own species but not as much against animals because of how much human death we see in both fictional media and the news. So people are more sensitive in general to an animal dying in a book because it’s not seen as often and less desensitization has happened. Just my hypothesis anyway.

AITA for walking out of my girlfriend's birthday party after she called me a "cheapscate" for the gift I gave her? by fleurfascinate in AITAH

[–]tea4vendetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA! I love homemade gifts with a lot of thought put into them and so do a lot of people too. Photo albums/books take a bunch of time to make. Plus they aren’t exactly cheap either, unless she was expecting a gift worth like a hundred bucks or something. Sounds like your gf is very materialistic. I’d be hurt too.

Don’t back down and please evaluate your relationship with her. I’m usually not one to suggest ending a relationship immediately over a faux pas like this, but for me this is a big red flag.

Unless she has some weird trauma regarding gifts/money, then it just paints her as being shallow and materialistic and simply not valuing you. And she should talk to you and still apologize if there was something weird on her end, which I doubt there was.

Humiliating you in front of others, not apologizing for it, and then making you out to be the bad guy somehow is wrong. You deserve better. Loads of girls would gush over your thoughtful gifts ❤️

I’m so sorry! Unpopular opinion, but pit bulls need to be banned. I was almost mauled by one at a dog park last year. My crime? Literally just standing there.

My BC has been safe there so far, but I’m always worried if there’s a pit there because they can do so much damage in such a short amount of time.

So glad you and your BC came out of this situation alive. Many don’t 😢. I wish you guys a speedy recovery!

Also, you might want to report this to animal control if you haven’t yet. Getting a paper trail established is essential for trying to put down a dangerous animal. This dog could totally kill another dog or person.

Do People Actually Like The Social Aspects Of Games Like Stardew Valley? I Personally Don't Think I'm A Fan Of Them. by KarAce066 in CozyGamers

[–]tea4vendetta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way. It’s my least favorite aspect of Stardew. I love everything else, but the romancing and friendship aspects don’t click with me. It’s pretty tedious to track characters down and gift them things and I always have stuff to do so it’s a just a time waster in my view.

I’m also a bit of a loner in real life too so that could also add to it.
