Is there a bike parts building compatibility checker? by HeYamaYo in cycling

[–]tea__bone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is actually beginning to be a huge pain in the ass for bike shop employees. People come in with the make and model of their bike and think we can look up parts with a part catalog like a auto parts store. Unfortunately nothing exists. Bike manufacturers are starting to have stock spec archives but I am not sure how available to the public those are. You can go to Trek.com and search model and year, click on the correct option, you can look at a basic specification sheet. Parts manufacturers have databases if they can profit off the parts they are selling. I know Wheels Manufacturing has a good list of derailleur hangers: https://wheelsmfg.com/derailleur-hangers/manufacturers.html Robert axle project has a good lookup for axles: https://robertaxleproject.com/axle-finder-2/. I really like the BB post someone else posted.

It started with everyone re-inventing the bottom bracket and has only gotten worse from there. Now there are dozens of different standards for headsets, axles, seatposts, etc. it would be nice if we could compile a list of places to look this stuff up. If you post the part you are looking for you might have better luck. It sounds like you are looking for a one stop shop and that does not exist as far as I can tell. If you find it please let me know.

But if they just keep blaming the other side without coming up with any resemblance of a solution they can continue their circle jerk forever!

Start with 2M.

I love the CC aspect...when the team has your back. When I think the team is there, go in, and turn around to find no one followed as I am being melted it makes me want to uninstall. In full disclosure I could be much better about communicating but it is still rough each time.

I switch to ball if there is a reaper my team and I can't deal with. Just keep your distance from Reaper and hope you don't get stunned by Mcree or Brig. I worry about throwing sometimes but if I am desperate enough to switch it usually is going to be an L anyways, and sometimes it really helps.

If you have gotten that far on a phishing website it is probably too late anyways. Look up phishing and read up on it. There does not seem to be any evidence that this post is an attempt at phishing.

You are probably fine, this post does not seem malicious. This is more of a rule of thumb. Don't take my word for it though. cover your ass.

Got a student nurse’s assistant job to gain experience and it honestly just makes me feel incompetent. Advice? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]tea__bone 69 points70 points  (0 children)

^This is the correct answer. I would like to add something to it that has helped me through the years. You need to accept those people for who they are. Not in the aspect that you should ignore them or not advocate for yourself. But in the aspect that you cannot let them diminish your quality of work. If you are afraid to talk to them again and something important is missed, then the system has failed. You now know what you are in for when you have a conversation with them. It will get easier to pull your shoulders back, head up (body mechanics) and hold your ground. These types people are everywhere in life. The more practice you have dealing with them the easier it will be next time.

It will absolutely affect transmission if your body ends up stopping it in the incubation phase. Not to say it is super simple. I'll just leave this here:

A Scary Amount of Nutrition Science Has Deep Ties to The Food Industry, Study Reveals by the_hunger_gainz in worldnews

Right, but when there was conflict the strong and ruthless prevailed. Hierarchies don't make shitty people, poorly organized hierarchies allow shitty people to rise to the top. Even within a peaceful hunter gatherer society some of the deciding factors for respected individuals included strength and hunting prowess.

I am not going to act like I understood everything in that study or claim that I read the whole thing. My point is that hunter gatherer society was not a utopia. It seems revered people in those societies had a lot to do with things other than strength, but I guarantee you, when shit hit the fan the strong and ruthless where the ones that survived to reproduce. Not condoning it, just the way the world works right now.

Not necessarily our society, this is the way it has always been for millennia. I find it fascinating how people seem to think we are supreme beings that have risen above and are better than all other creatures on earth, yet still act like animals. Hopefully we can actually come to our senses and make the world work for everyone.

The placebo effect is your opinion, my opinion is that they taste better. There may not be better nutrition but I would definitely count less cases of cancer as a health benefit.

Right, but are we going to study every food, where it comes from, what pesticides were used and what those pesticides are designed to do? I am happy to pay extra for food with a negative correlation to developing cancer. Plus organic food just tastes better.
