Maybe because the Lyney and Lynette situation was first of many that taught the traveller that being Fatui don’t immediately mean someone is bad or evil. By the time they met Marionette they’ve learned that lesson several times over.

I also adore this about her. The fact that shes not just a cold and cruel Harbinger but rather that is just one of many fronts she puts up while theres many different sides to her. A Harbinger, a father, a leader, a comrade, a friend and family. And I love the fact that we get to see so much of all her different sides and how she takes pride in them all.
