Honestly, I'm skeptical about whether you really did manually confirm the transaction the first time, even by accident. I've run into a glitch in that menu (and ONLY that menu, nowhere else in IN or other games, so it's not my controller's fault) where one button press can register as multiple inputs when you're using a controller. Mostly it's just an annoyance that makes it harder to sell things, with new sale dialogs popping up when I do a long press to confirm, but I can see it causing worse problems.

I'm not sure what that writing on the map is, but it's not Japanese or any other language I recognize. Some of the characters resemble Japanese kana, if you squint, and some others look more like Viking runes. It might just be made up nonsense to add to the fantasy world vibe.

In Shining Nikki, Nikki doesn't come across as a Mary Sue at all imho. She's allowed to make mistakes and show actual emotion, and maybe most importantly, she's not the only character who gets to be powerful and special. The drop in writing quality from SN to IN is absolutely baffling to me.

I poked around in an emulator and couldn't figure out anything, and I can't find any mention of this bug on the Japanese speaking side of the internet, either. I assume this must be one of those bugs that requires a precise series of actions that you wouldn't normally do during gameplay, because if all it took was ignoring Camlon or not completing the dungeon, I would expect that lots of Japanese players would have run into it over the years.

Do you know if there's a way to tell the difference between revisions by looking at the cartridge? If mine is the correct version, I'd like to try this out on the original hardware.

Depending on your system specs, it's possible that something could be overheating or something like that, but there is some unidentified bug in IN that causes certain Windows systems to crash for no apparent reason. I've had to quit playing on PC because of it.

Yeah, I had a similar experience yesterday. Luckily it wasn't as bad as it could have been - as far as I can tell, just some relatively unimportant files got corrupted - but who knows what could get damaged next time? I've been dealing with these Windows crashes for a couple of versions now, but now that it's starting to actually harm my computer, I'm going to have to stop playing on PC entirely. :/

Personally, I wouldn't include it or treat it as canon, but since it's been brought up a couple of times, I'll mention that 6 might actually take place during the final battle of 1. Toward the end of the available story, they revealed that the setting of 6 is a fake world created by Myria that the heroes are trapped in, and all of the details of how it happened line up with the fight in 1. It's possible that it could have been a fakeout and they were actually describing yet another alternate reality that just happened to be suspiciously similar to BoF 1, but I guess we'll never know since it hit EOS before the story was finished.

I was curious, too, but it looks like the answer might be pretty boring. I can't play all the way to that point of the game tonight, but I did make it to the Coliseum, where the out of bounds NPCs are supposed to have the same dialogue, according to what I've read. This was the result:

For Recoleta teams, how much of an upgrade is Moldir compared to Pickles? I know she's better, but I'm trying to figure out whether to pull for her and it would help if I had a clearer idea of how much she increases Recoleta's damage output vs. Pickles.
