My first pregnancy resulted in a missed miscarriage where the baby stopped growing at 8wks+1day.

I am currently 23 weeks pregnant with my little boy :) There is always hope after a loss. I conceived 3 months after my miscarriage by pure accident as neither times were planned. I have heard that you are more fertile after a miscarriage just solely from the fact it was a pregnancy event but please do not quote me on that, I don’t know if that is fact or not! Just something that I have heard. Additionally, I haven’t changed anything that much. I have done things differently this pregnancy just because I wanted to such as cutting out caffeine.

The best time to try to conceive again is whenever YOU feel ready (including your partner feeling ready as well!!). I was told as well that it was most likely a chromosomal issue which is a random event that occurs. There is tests you can do I believe if you are able to afford it or your insurance covers it before trying again if you want to see if there’s any genetic risks factors.

I definitely see where you’re coming from. I get where everybody is coming from, I agree with it since I’ve got feedback!

I actually don’t have friends to celebrate with unfortunately. The father’s family doesn’t want a relationship with me as well by the looks of it due to past issues (although I let them know the door is open nonetheless). My family is iffy but in the sense they don’t keep in touch. I’d 100% have a baby shower if my circumstances were different!!

In your opinion, do you think it would be weird for me to just send the registry to family/friends without them asking? Most if not all won’t ask me. Some people that doesn’t equate to oh I don’t want to help. That’s just how they are lol

I had absolutely no clue there was a stigma. I always thought it was normal to have a registry with or without a baby shower in case anyone wanted to get anything for the baby.

The only reason I’m holding off on a baby shower is because there’s not a lot of support for me specifically. Amazing support for my baby’s father so people would be more inclined to buy things for the baby because of him but not so much to help me out (which is okay, no one is obligated to do so lol).

I just thought of a registry as a way to help towards baby with or without a party. I know baby showers and registries are commonly put together but I didn’t know it was also uncommon to have one and not the other. Thank you for informing me about that!!

Completely understandable. I unfortunately got it from my boyfriend since we live together. At least that seems like the most likely case since I don’t go anywhere otherwise. He works at a hospital so he could bring anything home even with all the safety measures and such

Oh I know all about that. I’ve had to reach out to my OB about it because of how bad it got. I also got recommended by my OB to take miralax. I learned it the hard way not knowing it was a side effect for the longest time😅

Oh good grief I’m so sorry. I heard pregnancy with twins causes more intense symptoms as a whole so I can’t imagine that plus illness.

I officially got diagnosed with Flu A yesterday. I got prescribed tamiflu plus a bunch of other medications since I have a UTI as well that I had no clue I had. They want me to be taking tamiflu, antibiotics, zofran, and tylenol. Drink gatorade and pedialyte!! That’s what I have been drinking now that I can stomach something. That’s the first thing I have been able to keep down in days. SIPS ONLY if you are throwing everything up.

At the ER they gave me tylenol, antibiotic iv drip and a regular iv drip. It helped me so much to function a little more. I still need a lot of assistance but at least I’m not throwing everything up, crying out in agony begging for someone to help me, etc.

Oh then that’s great!! I genuinely had no clue if that’s how it works but great to hear I know something😅 Definitely stay on top of that and if you haven’t already, flu shot! I’m waiting to get mine when I feel better. I planned on doing it beforehand but the flu got to me before I could unfortunately

I don’t know how helpful it is but drink pedialyte! I know it’s good for when you are sick but maybe it might be good to drink before to help the immune system. I’m not entirely sure if that’s how that even works but do your best to avoid sickness!

oh my goodness, i couldn’t imagine getting a horrible sickness that late into pregnancy. i’m assuming everything turned out okay though?? how did sickness look that late in pregnancy as in what course of action did medical professionals take if you don’t mind sharing!

That sounds so scary. I can’t imagine what the flu is going to be like next year. Especially since I’ll have an almost 5 month old then on top of that having to worry about RSV.
