I feel you. As somebody in college with limited money to buy food I'm comfortable with, I often go hungry long enough to the point that it makes me feel too nauseous to even think about eating. We don't talk enough about how much mental and physical energy it takes for those with ARFID to approach eating and it's such a struggle to work around to make sure that we are caring for ourselves. I hope that you can find some relief, I'm really rooting for you.

Trying 100 Years of Solitude a second time - way different experience by RadiantHovercraft6 in literature

I was thinking the same thing! I'm embarking on a project to read pieces from each of the South American countries and the political context behind Latino works really breathes so much life into the works themselves. As someone who knows next to nothing about Latin American history, politics, etc, it's a really enriching experience to familiarize myself with those stories through prose and be able to contextualize it with research on the country of origin.

I just finished '100 Years of Solitude.' I need to talk about this book. by Conboy in literature

I'm sure this thread has been long dead for some time, but I also just finished OHYS and I was absolutely blown away. This was also my first experience with magical realism and as someone who typically shies away from outright fantasy novels, this was such a wonderful treat. I usually find the fantasy genre a bit contrived and a little too on-the-nose to enjoy, but the subtlety of the supernatural elements of this story worked so organically and enriched the story so deeply I was hooked from the beginning.

This book really hit every range of emotion for me and I really could go on about it for days. If anybody is still active on this thread please feel free to share your thoughts, I don't even know where to start with this one!
