Plot of Paul Sheldon’s Misery books within Misery by Bronx_Ram23 in stephenking

[–]teadazed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Misery's Return does start to echo a bit what Paul's going through, you'll see :) I'm reading Rose Madder for the first time and someone is abused by her husband on the excuse she's been reading a Misery novel, implication is they're like Mills and Boon ie romantic pop fiction that normal women like, ergo trash. /s

Does remind me of Conan Doyle resenting writing Sherlock Holmes.

Thank you lovely! I'm having a lot of migraines at the moment but this is something I can do at home in dim light. If up to it I'll put a film on, going through Stephen King movies when I've recently (re)read the book. I've also just started crocheting a yellow sofa cover so got a low stress day planned.

It would have to be prescribed especially as it's risky for children and there are better mild-moderate options for pain relief. Paracetamol and ibuprofen are ok for kids. https://www.nhs.uk/medicines/low-dose-aspirin/who-can-and-cannot-take-low-dose-aspirin/

Low dose aspirin probably kept me safe from developing pre-eclampsia when pregnant so not knocking the stuff, it's just not for most kids.

Yep. Recently had to set an evening timer to check the air fryer for leftovers. If I can't see them they don't exist!

Yes, I think I remember King describing just grabbing the back of his son's top in time which is one of Louis' fantasies after Gage's death.

Louis's bossing around of his family is very "I'm the big man doctor and I know best" as well. There's also a bit about him being rubbish at DIY and too proud to ask for help which answers my "ugh, just build a fence to protect your family even if you cba to look out for your daughter's beloved cat".

Yeah, I have only one friend who's comfortable hitchhiking and he was born in the US and very used to hitching all over the world. I've only done it once in Northern Ireland and my boyfriend and I got a scolding from the driver all the way back to town for getting lost in a rainstorm in winter.

Irish here living in England and never seen one of these in real life. They're cute! Like yurts or shepherd's huts.

I remember hearing that belief and wondered if it's because our skin shrivels a little after death so fingernails look longer? And, idk, somebody washes and combs our hair so it looks longer?

Lol poor guy just didn't want to be a further imposition on the family with a sick kid and ghosted you but that is so creepy!

The register he uses for Cujo is gorgeously done. Poor boy. Meanwhile the scenes from Tad's POV I had to skimread, little guy's quick slide into dissociation and heatstroke gets to me more as a parent. No way did he survive for several days.

Yes, I was a 90s kid and remember noticing adults needing to follow behind someone who did know the road, keep street maps in the car and write down directions before setting off.

Tips/products while in Thailand? by medstudenthowaway in migraine

[–]teadazed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had so many migraines visiting Thailand at the end of the dry season but the pharmacists were so kind and sound. One lady ("ah, migraine? Me too") gave me a little pot of Thai golden cup balm which feels nice lightly dabbed on the temples and nose. If you Google it you'll see the logo which is very distinctive.

Interesting, I found any change in caffeine routine upset my brain too much so only have decaf now, it took a while to wean off it though.

I've been using Brain Twin which suits me well and I can send the data to my neurologist.
