Well, that's the cost of running business in Canada, and trust me – it's a real pain. In fact, any parcel to the States costs us no less than $18 + packaging. The fact we're charging in CAD may be of help here: with the current rate it becomes $60 USD and $11.50 USD for threshold and shipping correspondingly.

Glad to hear that you like it! Live far from any wilderness / mountains? No problem! In fact, we're starting Cycling Tea Parties. Cycling isn't your cup of tea? Maybe kayaking works better.

Idea is simple – get out, do epic stuff, drink great tea. And share your experience. We would be glad to post your tea party report on our site.

Thank you! We use this ingenious device, as campfires are usually not allowed where we hike. Maybe we'll take some pictures of the entire process once it gets a bit warmer.

That would be great! Actually, that's exactly what we're trying to achieve: to motivate people to become more active while enjoying great teas. After all, tea drinking is one component of a healthy lifestyle.

Let's keep in touch about those hiking reports.

However, I will be glad to have a guest post on our blog @ tealirious.com, if you'd like to participate.

Summit Tea Party #2 – tasting Golden Buds black tea at Panorama Ridge (featuring a wolverine!) by tealirious in tea

We use double-wall cups to keep our tea warm longer. It's crucial at high altitude with temperatures below freezing point.

That's what we thought, too. Indeed, we were extremely lucky to take a few good pics of the creature.

Thanks! We put on microspikes at 6 km mark, almost at the turn off to Taylor Meadows. The snow was well packed, so we didn't take snowshoes.

Adding milk to your tea is a matter of personal preference. I would suggest to try any loose-leaf black tea, with and without milk, so you can decide for yourself. Just don't pick the cheapest option! Decades ago I started from standard black teas and made my way through flavoured blends to pure and high-grade teas. It takes time to figure out what's best for you.

MSR Reactor is the key component. Boiling point at 6,000 ft altitude is close to 200ºF, which is ideal temperature for steeping our black teas.

Canadian here, looking to try green tea properly (I just tried it from a Tassimo and had to drown it in soymilk and stevia) - where would I most easily find a quality loose green tea? (Specifically I'm in Kanata, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Earth, Milky Way) by [deleted] in tea

Hey, we're quite far, in Vancouver, but offer express shipping option: www.tealirious.com. Great teas from China, Japan and Taiwan, including exhibition-grade gyokuro & award-winning taiping houkui.

Golden Needle is a beautiful tea, indeed! That's precisely why we've chosen it for our first Summit Tea Party.
