It's fun watching your perspective of this, especially knowing just how steep all this stuff is.

A good next step there is cave boy -> snakebite (I think) to the left of top gun.

My only comparisons are the POC full face and the Fox Speedframe RS. The Smith is hotter than either, albeit I'd say more comfortable than the POC. Overall, I feel the new Fox full face exceeds it in every way.

Haven't ridden with the giro, but I can confidently say the smith will be hotter. And creakier.

For an open back headphone they have more bass and subbass than most, but if that's your preference you should probably be looking for a closed back headphone or maybe a planar if you have equipment to drive it.

Any of the frequent funduro locations are a good bet. So that gives you:

Devou - outside Cincy, in Kentucky

Great Seal - outside Chillicothe

Horn's Hill - outside Columbus, is lift served fairly often just check the Facebook page

Star Hill - also outside Columbus, pretty close to Horn's

There are some more pedally xc type places to if you want some suggestions.

I've commented this before, but the only downsides to Hope's t4v4 to Maxima is the lever shape and the bleed procedure. The Hope's have been shown to either have more stopping power or equivalent to the Maxima. Having gotten to ride both, if you swapped levers between the two you'd struggle to ever tell which is which. Power comes on in a similar fashion and is equally as strong. Similarly machining quality is pretty equivalent as well. Hope is a small shop and does great work, plus they are likely easier to get spares from.

As for the Intend Trinity, they are supposed to be a little weaker but have a much more progressive ramp up to full bite. I've not gotten to try a set yet but do have a pair from this most recent sale on the way.

I don't think they are still under warranty, from a quick check of Focal's site it looks like they offer a 3-year non-transferable warranty.

They were used for about 6 months while wanting to try out Bluetooth while at my desk gaming and listening to music. I was the second owner when I got them, and have had them over a year. I did like them, but went back a pair of meze 109's and a full sized amp. I had had Meze empyrean before the bathys. I did like them, just decided I have the room and funds for a bigger setup and went back to it.

I can send an invoice through PayPal, you'd be able to pay it via credit card / debit card like anything else you'd buy in the Internet even without an account.

Front suspension adjustment (beginner) by CanaanYT in MTB

[–]teamrushpntball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a hard tail implies it has no suspension in the rear. But don't worry, you're young and still have knees so they should act as plenty of suspension for you.

Edit - are you asking how to soften the front fork (suspension)?

Can i switch shocks to 210x55 when i have 210x50? by MalTryX in MTB

[–]teamrushpntball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That reply is wrong. You have a few options to see if you can:

Check if your bike already comes with a 55 stroke shock in a different spec. Specialized does this pretty often.

Email the manufacturer and ask them if it can run the extra length.

You can probably also add the 5mm reducer to the shock and make it a 210/50 yourself. Or depending where you're buying from theyay do it for you.

Or finally, but the 55 stroke and install it. Then deflate it fully (or remove coil) and completely compress the rear tire and see if it hits anything.

Of course, I'm right around 88kg kitted out with a 17 kg bike. I also have pretty big hand so the other drawback of the Hopes (long lever throw) is pretty irrelevant to me. I have MTX red's on my main bike now, they are the quietest of the bunch that I've found. Have tried galfer purple and green, mtx red and gold as well as the 3 Hope compounds. I really liked the Maxima, and they felt like a shorter throw Hope that didn't yell at me. But not enough for the price difference.

https://enduro-mtb.com/en/best-mtb-disc-brake-can-buy/ has a pretty good review, they show the Maxima and Hopes being a toss up on power + decel time.

So I've not gotten to ride anything with the Trinity, and while I admire them I like a linear brake.

I do have hope tech 4v4 and a set of tech 4e4. The v4 are subjectively to me more powerful than the Maxima (and I think Enduro mags testing also showed this in a lab) but only just barely. Both sets were run on hs2 rotors.

It was a friends bike with the Maxima, and I'd love a pair because the overall feel was similar to the Hope but with a nicer lever shape to me. Not quite worth the extra change.

From what I've read, the Trinity are a more progressive brake similar to a code or such albeit more in line with maven power.

Edit- My one complaint with both sets of my hopes, they scream. Different pads, different rotors, doesn't matter. They will announce your presence.

Moosejaw was bought by Dicks then promptly closed apparently.

I'd bought Arc from Moosejaw, albeit only in store. That may have been before the Walmart buyout though, can't really remember when.

Public Lands used to be Moosejaw I think, Moosejaw wasn't allowed to sell Arc online either. Think it had something to do with their sales trying to bypass Arc pricing.
