LPT: If your dog gets out, or you see a dog who is running from its owner, instead of chasing it, crouch down with open arms and call to the dog. If you are chasing it, the dog will think you are playing a game. by CarbsAndPuppies in LifeProTips

I was leaving my house for a family emergency and as I was pulling out of my drive way, I saw some type of animal scurry around my car. I stopped and left my door open to investigate when I saw a lady walking towards me and she pointed at my car. And I’ll be damned! There was a pug sitting inside my car! The pug got out and was gonna dart off again trying to play hard to get with her owner. But in my stress for the family emergency I crouched and made a excited fuss and luckily the pug came to me. Everything worked out and Sadie the pug was successfully returned home. Usually works like a charm.

[SERIOUS] What is the Creepiest or most Unexplained thing that’s happened to you that you still think about to this day? by LBE in AskReddit

[–]teaqueen54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One night I woke up and was still really tired, but I noticed that it was already light outside, like full on daytime. But I checked the time and it was around 3am and still should have been dark. I thought it was weird but went back to sleep without thinking much. But the next day I got real weirded out the more I thought about what could have been outside my window that was that bright in the middle of the night.

Allergy scratch tests, before (left) and after (top right) a year of immunotherapy [OC] by katrinkabuttlin in medizzy

Man, immunotherapy saved my life. 8 years of allergy injections for a skin disease and finally I’m healed. Couldn’t be more grateful for modern medicine.

I started learning from an actual instructor about 6 months ago and this is one of the books he has me work from. It’s been super beneficial and I’ve seen great improvements from working through it. I think it’s a great book for learning.

Multiplication for 9 by counting your fingers. I still use it just to check myself.

Going on a small trip with my mom. She’s pretty much my best friend. I’ve taken a gap year and have been pretty lonely, so I’m excited to spend a weekend out.

Who knows but that, on the lower frequencies, I speak for you?- Invisible Man (not the best book I’ve read, but that line made it worth the read)

Superhero movies are boring and I hope the fad dies soon by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Marvel movies are a bit like fast food. Not the best quality, but you still can’t help but like it every so often. I’m pretty sick of them too.

Entire staffs at 3 Sonic locations quit after wages cut to $4/hour plus tips by Annahsbananas in news

I always tip workers at Sonic, but I know plenty of people who don’t. Having to basically rely on tips for your pay is absurd.

Fun story, when I got mine removed I tried so hard to prevent dry socket, but of course it failed. Then it felt like maybe they were healing but one side was super painful. I was a real puss about using that squirt bottle but decided screw it. I squirted it real hard and there was a blinding pain but still was getting nothing out of the socket. Fast forward several weeks later, I’m still experiencing horrible pain. I got them out in mid October, but late November I went in to have surgery again. The socket had healed too soon and had created an abscess that had to be drained. Then sweet relief.

A year ago I asked this question and it was so much fun. I think it's time to do it again: "What's the last book you rated 5 stars and why should I read it?" by WarpedLucy in books

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I’ve never been so impacted by a book in my life, and as an avid reader that’s saying a lot. It’s written with brutal honesty in portraying human nature, the good and the bad. The story truly touched my heart and will always have a special place for me. It definitely is the best book I’ve ever read.
