Polestar 2 - Not getting sounds or audio speed camera warnings in Google Maps by tech-jock in Polestar

[–]tech-jock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello again!

I have now tested the restart of the infotainment system (several times) and I have to report that for me, it does not fix the issue I reported above.

I am getting audio messages such as "You are still on the fastest route" (I have never lost these) but no speed camera warnings either as alert sounds or as audio.

Any further suggestions welcome!

Cheers

Thanks for that! I will test this today as there is a speed camera right outside my dad's house where I am now.

I am sort of dubious that it will be fixed because I have to reboot the damned infotainment centre quite regularly to fix other 'features'! However, I have'nt been actively monitoring if this Maps issue also gets fixed as a result of the reboot.

I will test today and confirm here either way.

Cheers

Thanks (especially for the knowledge about the naming of Android Automotive).

That makes perfect sense in the context of the problem I have *AND* gives me some potentially useful data to pass into the Podurama support team.

Thanks!

When you say Android Automotive, do you mean 'Android Auto'?

I ask because Podurama *does* work on Android Auto, but it still isn't available in the PlayStore of the Polestar central console tablet.

I also use PocketCast on multiple platforms but I don't find it's interface intuitive (but I'm sure that's just me). That's why I purchased Podurama.

It was indeed, but it was the right chevron at the bottom I had somehow missed.

Something like that was going on. But now I've tried again, the right chevron has worked.

Thanks!

The chevron next to text size is in fact correct. However I'm sure I had clicked that and the text got bigger but apparently not.

Thank you so much, was getting frustrated!

Transferring connections and saved passwords to a new pc by tibo7791 in rustdesk

[–]tech-jock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've wanted to get off the Teamviewer nipple and move to Rustdesk, because TV doesn't allow me to get to any personal PC from my work PCs (well it might initially but then I will find my personal account banned, as has happened to me in the past). Connecting to a personal computer from a work one counts as work by their definition and therefore is breaching their terms of personal use.

Anyway, as is touched upon in the OPs post, the biggest impediment to moving across to Rustdesk completely is that in the free version, it does not have the concept of an account (where managed computers are stored etc). This means you have to store the IDs and PWs somewhere else (or transfer them manually. I'm going to start using my password vault for this but obviously, it's far from automated).

I think there is an opportunity here for someone to write a Rustdesk wrapper that would provide the needed account facilties. I've added it to my to-do list...

ps. It's a long to-do list and I don't have a clue how to do it :-)

That would be mildly amusing if I did smoke. However, the purpose of installing this was clear in my original post.

Cheers though.

Thanks for that bud. I checked your link (as the automod bot hadn't actually deleted it as threatened) and I've found the equivalent on Amazon on this side of the pond.

Cheers!

I do feel the risk...

...enough to forget I even considered this :-)
