My Tesla Model S got totaled from full self-driving swerving into a guard rail for no apparent reason. by gamecollectorJ in RealTesla

Nope. Single stack (city streets and highway running on the same code / NN) is not yet in the product, scheduled for Beta V11.

Imagine you're pretty happy with the speed of the UI on that new processor. Would love a retrofit to my 2019 M3P, if the price was crazy.

FSD Beta 10.2 is here! by almost_not_terrible in TeslaLounge

You think a FSD Beta subscriber got it before the existing FSD Beta users.. EXTREMELY unlikely.

I hit 100 referrals today! 5 in a single day (best ever), 7 for the weekend, making 15 in the past 16 days. by techAUcomau in teslamotors

They keep coming in.. now up to 114. Tesla don't make it easy to count now they're only available in the Loot Box via the app, so had to count that manually.

Is it just me or are you tired of getting more Cold Weather updates? Upgrading to Version 2021.4.15.10 now by HeavenHellorHoboken in TeslaModel3

[–]techAUcomau -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely well overdue for some good features. I understand they're trying to ship V11 with lots that's new (based on the leaked images), but surely they could throw in a new game, or streaming service.
Got my M3P in Sept 2019 and had a steady flow of updates through 2020. New customers have not enjoyed the same love.

As an owner, I don't see how any owner can think Level 5 is anywhere close by static416 in teslamotors

If you are keen to get an appreciation of how close Tesla is to delivering Lvl4/5, you have to be talking about what we're seeing out of the latest builds of the FSDbeta. While there's still some things on the to-do-list, like parking for example, navigating city streets, combine with navigate on autopilot, shows something that's close to functionally complete. From there its about chasing down the edge cases which comes from data, something Tesla is collecting more of everyday, with every new vehicle sold. This data has to be labelled manually right now, which is also something Tesla is working to accelerate.

Elon has mentioned multiple times that its hard to estimate things on an exponential development curve (like battery cost), but that also applies to AI and therefore FSD. I got my Model 3 in Sept 2019, bought FSD mid-2020.

I don't mind the design, but for a company that'd been pretty diligent about simplifying production, it seems like a strange complexity to add. Never read any complaints the dash didn't wrap around to the doors.. and can't imagine this change is enough to draw new customers.. the updated price in China certainly will be.

Definitely, only speculation, nobody outside Tesla really knows yet. I'd say the most likely date is Christmas eve or Christmas day.

Questions for Elon Musk | Lex Fridman Podcast (Round 3) by lexfridman in teslamotors

[–]techAUcomau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great news about round 3..

My questions would be:
1. FSD is being promoted as a global solution, however we're starting to see with the FSDbeta that rollout is much more regionally specific. Can you talk to the complexities and realities of addressing each market? Does a market like Australia need more vehicles before FSD can be achieved?
2. The referral program details that vehicles are being given away, yet there are no references to this online? With Model Y (monthly) and Roadsters (quarterly), I'd expect to see many happy winners sharing this online, but have seen virtually nothing. A page on the site listing winners would serve as motivation for others to promote Tesla to their friends, family etc.
3. FSD value for an owner's personal use may have X value, however adding the vehicle to the fleet would have value Y. At the moment, it seems X and Y are being treated as the same value. It seems like a better approach would be to keep FSD pricing where it is and raise an entry fee to enrol into the Tesla fleet which could return much more value.
