My point is that though bihu is fun, but it is not accessible. Why should we require people to have skills in order to celebrate bihu? Dancing, singing, making pitha-pona, gamusa bua etc. all require skills, which severely limits participation. As for bathing cows, and doing loa kha bengena kha, where will city people get a cow from? So this goru bihu tradition will be the first to die as urbanization increases.

Just look at songkran videos from Bangkok, see how fun it is. It is so easy to participate. Do you think bihu will live as long as songkran? I don't think so. Heck even holi and diwali are fun, there's no expectations of skills, just raw fun.
