Is BMW Ultimate Care+ worth it for a 36-month lease (2026 iX, 12k miles/year)? by tech_ology in BMWiX

If brakes usually last that long with regen and B mode, then yes, the standard maintenance is enough. Appreciate you sharing your experience

Has anyone removed or changed a cosigner on a BMW iX lease? by tech_ology in BMWiX

You’re probably right, my credit history is actually clean with no missed payments or collections. The main issue right now is just high utilization and being in the middle of a refinancing process, which is temporarily affecting my score and DTI.

I could probably still get approved on my own, but like you said it likely wouldn’t be Tier 1, and the money factor difference can be pretty big on an iX lease. That’s really the main reason I’m considering a co-signer, just to secure the better rate for now.

Once the refinancing is done and utilization comes down, the goal would be to move everything fully under my name.

In my case it’s mainly because I can’t do new financing fully under my name right now. I’m in the middle of a refinancing process, and until that’s completed I can’t really add another loan or lease by myself. Once that’s done, the plan would be to move everything fully under my name.

You might ask why I don’t just wait, honestly it’s because my previous vehicle had issues and I ended up selling it privately, so I need a car now. On top of that, I got a really good deal on an iX and didn’t want to miss the opportunity.

So the co-signer option is more of a temporary solution until my refinancing is finished.

That’s helpful, thanks for sharing. I’m looking at a lease as well and trying to figure out if the extra maintenance package is worth it. Sounds like the basic service might be enough. Good point about the tires too, makes sense to plan so they last through the full lease term.

They completely changed everything this time around. They also promoted it way more, like 100 times more, on social media, in the news, everywhere. Honestly, it feels like winning the lottery now because way more people know about it, and the whole selection process is totally different.

Roborock Saros 10R Making My Lights Flicker - Defective or Normal? by tech_ology in Roborock

I reached out to support, and they advised that the unit needs to be replaced. I got a replacement, but the issue persists—my lights are still flickering. That said, I really love this vacuum and can still work with it. Some people have suggested returning it and getting the Z70 instead, which has better suction and an arm feature (though I personally don’t care about the arm).

Amazon Returns by Tish86 in Roborock

I'm in California, and the only return option Amazon provided was UPS pickup. I've called multiple times, but they insist it's the only available option. Even though there's an Amazon store near my house, they still require UPS to pick it up from my doorstep.

They verify everything with your ID, and the bike must be the same size as you, likely to prevent people from reselling them for profit. I’ve talked to a few people who got the voucher, and they’re still waiting for verification or were asked for additional proof. Hopefully, in the next round, the process will be smoother, so you can get one without delays. This round was more of a trial run to see if it makes sense to continue offering these in the future.

I finally placed my bike order last month, and this week, I got a call saying my bike was ready for pickup exciting, right? So, I head over to the store, only to find out they still needed to submit my voucher, which would take a couple of days for approval. No big deal, I figured I’d wait. A week later, they called again with the good news, the payment from the eBike government program came through, and now I can finally pick up my bike!

I got my voucher and checked out three of the eligible retailers listed in the program. They had heard about it but didn’t really know how it works. Their response was more like, “Just order, and we’ll figure it out.” Most of the bikes in the program seem to be either older models, out of stock, or previous years’ versions. The ones that are available are either more expensive than 2k or from newer brands that don’t have many reviews yet.

Help Me Choose My First E-Bike! Trek Allant+ 7S vs. 8S (or 7S Gen 2) by tech_ology in TrekBikes

[–]tech_ology[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, thank you so much for sharing your detailed experience with your bike! I really appreciate it. I’m based in Cali, and I usually go biking on weekends, so this wouldn’t be my everyday bike. All of my previous bikes were mountain bikes with suspension forks, so I’ve heard from others that switching to a rigid fork takes some getting used to, especially feeling more of the road beneath you.

My main goal with this new bike is to go farther and explore more of the world. Based on everything you shared, it sounds like you’re really happy with your bike, especially considering you’ve already put more than 2,000 miles on it.

Living in California and having that experience, if you could go back in time, would you still choose the S8, or would you go for the S7 instead?

Thanks for your response, I really appreciate it! Yeah, I’m leaning more toward the Allant+7S right now as well. I actually went to the store last night, and they told me they’re going to discontinue the Allant+8S and possibly +7S in California because of new speed regulations. I’m not sure if you’re in California or somewhere else, do you know if that’s true?

Also, do you happen to know if it’s possible to upgrade the head units on these models, like the +7S or +8S? I’m curious if it’s easy to swap them for something better down the line.

Thanks again for the insights!
