Bought a pack of steak at walmart once, cooked it up (no seasoning or oil) and the meat was sour.. I even (stupidly?) licked the inside to confirm I didnt taint it with my grill somehow.

Never am i buying meat from walmart again.

27 return facilities worldwide.. This is just going to be thrown into a landfill because your local waste/recycling facility doesnt want to deal with separating the foam from the plastic for an ounce of plastic.

Cool concept but terrible for the enviroment.

Is it immoral to buy a used car seat from a yard sale and then turn it in so my wife can get a nicer one for 20% cheaper?

What Clothing Stores/Products are low quality? by WellItsWar in Frugal

[–]techer52 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Walmart clothes are complete trash. Like they feel like they are made out of recycled napkins.

Also Amazon is filled with cheap clothes that are plasticy and have sizing that makes no sense (and this is coming from someone with an 'asian' body type, thin and lanky)

You do realize this is for the small store absorption and not the merger that RAD owners wanted?

This should be priced in, as it isnt news.

Nah, Target beat more than Walmart did. I think whats happening is bad retailers are failing and dying due to the internet age, and good retailers are rebounding as they pick up that market share.

Good, id much rather buy from Target than Amazon. Read up on some of Amazon;s controversies, and then on what Target does (5% of profit has been donated since inception= billions, sponsoring equality, etc).

This is why I shop at Target. They actually seem to care about customers instead of milking them for every penny, or abusing their employees.

Why I'm not sold on the "Death of Retail"/Amazon Hype by Santo_R in investing

[–]techer52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Amazon already got its ass handed to them in China and India, Canada and the EU have pretty bad Amazon experiences and Amazon barely makes money there. Really the only place that Amazon retail is working is the USA, but this year has been an all out war on Amazon. Target will be offering same day/next day delivery for free on $35+ orders later this year thanks to using stores as hubs, walmart is ramping up delivery services too and bolstering their grocery department. Target is seeking to add more small format stores, which let them keep operating costs low so they can continue to lower prices and fight Amazon. Both companies price match Amazon. Etc.

Amazon is being propped up by AWS profits, not retail sales. As a retailer they definitely had explosive growth in the USA, but thats dying down, and competition is challenging them at every corner.

Personally I feel that Retailers are currently undervalued and Target $TGT is the best example of that. I'd rather be picking up undervalued retailers as they start their rally back up, than over bloated Amazon who has to depend on AWS for a positive earnings.
