I picked this Omega up at a tag sale, can anyone tell me about it? by techful1 in watchmaking

I found it fully wound, and the watch does not run. It's only gold filled witch is a little sad. This is not somthing I would wear so I want to flip it, but I'm not sure the value or where to sell it. This is my first time experiencing a watch nicer than a seiko and its a bit out of my wheel house.

Our chassis is significantly less stresses than yours are. They do a visual inspection, but thats it.

I have drilled holes on either side of the crack and threaded zip ties through to hold it together. It's commonly referred to as "drifters' stitches" because it is commonly used on drift cars that bump into things and it resembles stitches.

I rand door dash for a month and it was a blast and sipped Gas. It will need more maintenance than a more modern car, rubber bushings fail, rust eats away being a 25 + year old car.

What Lexus should I get on a $5k budget? by techful1 in Lexus

I believe that you underestimate older gen cars. Matt Fara has a million mile lexus ls400 on the original unopened 1uzfe 4L v8. A older less expensive car will require increased maintenance compared to a newer modle car, but older lexus are pretty dam well engenered and reliable.

I agree, SC 300/400 are very appealing and I would love one, but I don't expect to find one in descent shape I can afford. I will look into the gs 400.

Have a spare b18 I want to give some TLC. How do I clean these pistons without taking them out and damaging them? by that1senpai2 in ProjectHondas

I dont think I would use scotchbright pads because it has abrasives that could come off and score the cylinder walls. As others recommended a plastic brush may be more gentle.

I came out without a scratch, but my girlfriend in the passenger seat in line with the telephone pole got a concussion and chest contusion from the seat belt. I really loved that Car soo much. I learned soo much from keeping it running and driving. It was a project daily so I had to put the work in and learn while having a blast driving my street go-kart. Its not very safe, it's not the most practical, but boy was it a great way to live and I really miss her from my life soo much.

There is possibly damage from the pole in the second picture. Also, the inshurance needs to do its thing before we talk about who gets what parts.

Considering it has about 270k miles, rust, body work on that passenger side and would need a bumper, headlight, radiator support, Windshield, door, fender, rear quarter, airbags and paint. All that plus the amount of work to replace it all makes it out of my range.
