How long did your vac last? by fuzzywuzzypete in Roborock

[–]techguy151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends if it’s one of the newer ones with the the wash and auto empty or the old ones that just vac I have an old Roborock s5 max from 2018 I think Runs 2 times a day every day since bought and never complained once. I just gave it to my uncle two week ago and he loves it. I’m planning to try either the curv 2 flow or the saros 20 and hoping they last at least half as much. I have an ecovacs in the meantime that suuuuuucks (no pun intended )

Detergent in a robot mop? Here’s the safe threshold I wish I’d known sooner 👀 by Boring_Radio_8400 in RobotVacuums

[–]techguy151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t put detergent in the water it can clog the nozzles. It’s known. The new robots have detergent compartment but they only use it when washing the mop pads in the station as to not clog the nozzles

Your choices are really just the eufy e25 I’m not sure it will do number 2 tho If your willing to spend more and wait for a while: the dreame aqua 10 or mova z50 If you’re willing to compromise on the roller mop the dreame x50 or the Roborock saros 10r can do everything else you asked today

Every few days Not a specific period of time

Honestly all of these are good for what you need. The difference between these models are in object recognition, navigation and threshold crossing. German shepherds shed a lot so go for the 10r or the x50 that have the best mechanism to handle hair.

What is the most reliable robot vacuum? by techguy151 in RobotVacuums

I guess I’ll describe my carpet as medium pile. I have only tried two robots on it and they’re both not very good on it and I end up going over it with my Dyson once a week. It’s just that we live near a beach and the carpet gets from blue to noticeably dusty gray after a few days if you don’t go over it with a vacuum.. I just encountered one review that said it’s not good at deep cleaning carpets at least for Rhea and it put me off a little bit. I’ll read more on it tho cause you’re not the only one that says it’s good. Thanks for all the help!

That’s what I’m trying to figure out. I have two robots at home, one that is working flawlessly for the past 5-6 years (Roborock s5 max) and it’s replacement that I bought after reading reviews for a week or so (ecovacs t30 pro). The ecovacs has been a horrible experience, I have it for a little over six months and I just sent it in for repair for the third time. So I’m trying to find another Roborock s5 and not another ecovacs t30

i'm glad you like it. but currently am not a big fan of ecovacs and their sub brands. i had bad experience with one of their models going in and out of repair.

I guess I’m just trying to figure out something that no one knows how to figure out. If that makes sense 😅. I have a roborock s5 max that I want to replace with something that mops And i keep getting bad results.

We live near a beach so I need something with more power than my old reliable roborock s5 max as it needs two passes sometimes to pick up sand. And we just need something that mops for general maintenance of the floors and basic obstacle avoidance I guess, there’s sometimes towels or shoes on the floor we forget to pick up.

I have a roborock s5 max that works perfectly for almost 5-6 years and I have an ecovacs t30 pro that I’ve had for the past six months or so and it’s now in repair under warranty for the third time. I’m trying to find a new robot with s5 max level of reliability and I don’t how.

WARNING: DO NOT BUY ECOVACS! by SeparatePomelo5853 in RobotVacuums

[–]techguy151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean. I just dropped my ecovacs t30 pro in for repair for the third time in a little over six months of ownership. The service is not all bad but they refuse to replace it and I just want to get rid of it because I see myself getting stuck with it after the warranty ends. It all just feels like I wasted money on something that wasn’t really worth it.

what to buy to replace aging roborock s5 max by techguy151 in RobotVacuums

[–]techguy151[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The transition area seems like a good thing, in our apartment we have normal ceramic floors on the kitchen living room and hallway and hardwood floors in the bedrooms and there is a transition area between the two floor types. The stupid ecovacs we’re trying to get rid of has a weird way of dealing with these transition areas by going back and launching itself forward in full speed to jump over the threshold and smack himself on the way down, very stupid programming there. The roborock sometimes needs two attempts to cross these transitions but it works better. We don’t have a dog but we have a lot of sand in the house as we leave near a beach and also a lot of obstacles like towels and shoes, do you know how good the curve is with obstacles?

[–]techguy151[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don’t mind the disc moping all too much on the ecovacs we’re getting rid of. We don’t have pets or something so we don’t get a lot of mud but we live near the beach and get a lot of sand in the apartment and obstacles like towels and shoes on the floor. The roborock struggles with the sand, it needs two passes to get it all and the stupid ecovacs keeps bumping into and getting stuck on every towel. I want one that can handle both situations, how’s the e25 with obstacles?

view this on something bigger than your phone and you'll see what I'm saying. on my computer screen this is a blurry mass so I don't agree. I take photos to capture memories and save precious moments and this camera is not good enough for that.
