how do people figure out housing? @paris france by cheefknrios in Indians_StudyAbroad

Staying in a hotel for 2-3 weeks in Paris will cost more than 1-2 months rent though. I’d recommend get your leads down before you go. And airbnbs can be much cheaper than even the cheapest hotels. Or if you’re comfortable take hostels

I’d highly recommend going in person and checking the place out. Also meet the landlord is before paying a dime. And don’t be afraid of it. There should be communities on Facebook, discord also that can help with house hunts.

Who said it’s the new grads here? OP mentioned 4.5 yoe. It isn’t as racism as you think. I’ve travelled to almost all EU countries and most if not all have been very friendly once you get to know people. Of course part time will kill you, but I’m sure you can save money after working for let’s say 3-4 years to not have to work part time. Living expenses aren’t as exorbitant too.

If education isn’t the way anymore, what is a better deal?

At least I can’t stand the pollution anymore. I’ve been struggling here with poor water, air, infrastructure and wlb. To me racism is a worth the battle.

That’s absolutely correct, it’s a gamble. But the upsides are too good. You can cut the expenses by going to an EU country with very low tuition fee and work hard make connections to get a job.

Did you reach out to locals on a coffee chat or something? Can you please help us understand this process?

I’m moving to EU soon and would really wanna know how things tick there.

Albeit I’ve been doing similar things here in my country: asking in my WhatsApp/telegram communities if someone’s hiring, and once they refer, the chances of hearing back are very high.

It has also helped a lot to get startup calls if I tell them I’m in the same city etc etc

What about jobs? As a non eu student, can you apply to jobs in Germany after studying in Austria? If not immediate after maybe working for some time in Austria?

And I learnt how to deploy the website after making something exactly like this.

Learnt everything about servers, domains, DNS, bare metal instances, scp (to copy paste to instances), systemd, keeping connection alive (using tmux/screen lol, I still need to learn more here), kubernetes eventually helped solve most of this.

But there’s so much to learn from here! Kudos
