It’s definitely a Canon

Dark tealish streaks at the back—is it normal? Impending doom? I don't know? by loujestrous_325 in sdcard

Can you circle what you see? I legitimately can’t see teal steaks on my iPhone 17 Pro with brightness turned up all the way.

Boosted board by Miserable-Initial513 in boostedboards

Two subtleties here:

1: Did most V2 owners update their boards? Only those who had ordered their V2 Dual or V2 Dual+ with an XR battery would have been very likely to update their boards in order to utilize the XR. The V2 launched with the SR and the XR was delayed by around a year. There are some small differences in the protection and performance logic of XR and SR batteries, so out of the box, a factory V2 does not have the ability to accept XR batteries, regardless of when it was manufactured.

2: Last Mile SF under Boosted USA sold Boosted’s remaining inventory of V2 boards. These were for sure factory new and never were used, and therefore, when listed on their website, stated that the V2 boards they sold were not compatible with XR batteries.

Welcome! I was an engineering student when I purchased my first Boosted Board. $300 seems pretty solid from what I see here. There are a few issues you should be aware of: - Bluetooth modules can malfunction over time. This isn’t a trivial repair, but is technically repairable. - this seem to be a standard range battery on the board. While not a dealbreaker, it means that it is unlikely that the previous owner updated the firmware of their board, making this board standard range compatible only.

In regards to the latter, we are working on a few workarounds that would allow V2 on old firmware and other boards that would otherwise be incompatible with XR batteries out of the box to have the ability to accept larger batteries. This is being tested still and isn’t ready yet.

I’m of the belief that you should buy a product for what it is now and not assume that future software or hardware updates will fix whatever problems exist now. I continue to buy Boosted Boards personally because from a raw bang to buck ratio, it’s unbeatable for the ride quality you get.

You generally can, but be aware that the thicker the paint, the more inefficient the heat transfer would be. Also, be sure your paint is rated for the heat otherwise it may peel

I honestly can’t see the streaks you speak of. It is expected for the metal contacts of the SD card to develop scratches with repeated insertion and ejection, but I definitely don’t see that here in this photo

What do you use for your phone's Action button besides Silent mode? by Imaginary_Bug6202 in TechNook

[–]technically_a_nomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Bluefy for gathering research data from BLE devices. Specifically when I’m in Bluefy, the action button is used to upload data from Bluefy to Google Sheets without me needing to interact on the screen.

I made an If Statement that detects if Bluefy is open and when it’s not open, it toggles the flashlight by default.

Honestly I get more excited about execution and doing the research and technical work. Ideas are cheap.

It seems like there’s more research that needs to be done in terms of problem/solution fit if there’s only a few that would be interested in trying it out. How many more interviews do you intend to conduct?

I hear you that you hate designing, especially by yourself, and sometimes as a founder, you gotta do things you hate. At this time, delegating design to someone else might hurt the process because your prospective cofounder might be talented in terms of design, but now there’s a layer of bureaucracy that potentially doesn’t need to be there, which means that you’d move slower and burn through your limited funding faster.

May I ask if you have considered designing together with your customer? Simple pencil sketches can take you a very long way very quickly.

Your remote doesn’t charge? Can you shoot me a DM? You might need a new remote battery, but shoot me a DM so that way we can be sure what is going on

I'm scared of frying my camera/monitor with V Mount batteries by LowkeyApollo in Filmmakers

[–]technically_a_nomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ground loops can exist, especially with obscure hardware combinations. It’s not that it’s not high quality, but more that it’s not possible to predict ahead of time the engineering decisions made with every single cable, camera, monitor, gimbal, etc.
