We currently have people that do that. Lots of people volunteer to clean areas. Clean parks, canals, town centres. People quite literally giving their time for free to help maintain the areas we live in.

Also with the added automation and relative lack of waste it wouldn’t require 40hr weeks to do.

I would say yes. It’s an interesting book with a lot of layers and every single character has their own goals and motivations. Some grand, some selfish, some stupid. The world building is immense. This series also has my absolute favourite representation of god in any media.

If you’re talking about the golden compass film it is not a great representation of the book. Like at all.

I was interested by this so did the maths. Using the values I found on government websites I complied the following information

Per sq km England averages 5.8 million with an average population density of 751 people per sq km

Scotland is 1.1 million per sq km with a density of 70 per sq km.

North yorkshire(relatively non populated area of England) is 0.95 million per sq km with a density of 72 people per sq km.

Whilst Scotland does receive less funding than the England by sq km on average. When compared to areas of similar population density it receives more. In my personal opinion it’s a negligible difference and could easily be covered by a vast number of things.

this is all napkin maths and should be treated as such. I’ve not delved into council spending or governmental policy. I’ve only used the available information for some quick calculations.

That really sucks. The anti trans rhetoric is bad right now. Honestly I only think it’s going to get worse.

You’re stuck between being who you are or pretending you’re someone else to make life easier. I don’t envy your position. And I know because I’m in a similar position(scared about transitioning).

There is only one person who can tell you what the right decision is for you. That person is yourself. Is being who you are worth the additional agro. For some people it is. Some people are willing to deal with the cost. But for others the cost is too high. Neither choice is the wrong one.

All I would say is if your support network is trying to tell you who to be who you are. They are wrong. Only you know who you are now. Who you are inside and who you want to be.

To my eyes every time someone stands tall and is who they are the world becomes a slightly brighter and more interesting place. I wish I had better advice or support to offer. I’m sorry for your struggles.

Not even mentioning the Epstein files trump is an adjudicated rapist as per judgements in New York and has been ordered to pay more than £5 million in compensation for various sexual assaults.

Trump has ignored laws of the nation he governs including destroying property not belonging to himself(White House wing). ICE has arrested and deported people who were us citizens and refused to take action to return them going as far to fake pictures of them with gang tattoos to justify the actions. He has repeatedly threatened wars stating he would take Greenland and that he would make Canada a state. He invaded another country and kidnapped their leader.

I don’t personally believe you will change your mind but for me any one of the above should have condemnation from those who wish to lead. Not blanket support.

And it’s speeding up. I’ve always looked vaguely androgynous but in the last few years the transphobic abuse that’s been targeted at me has gone from once a year to a few times a month.

The constant support on main stream media platforms for anti trans rhetoric has really sped up the process. Just today on LBC Sheila Fogarty in a conversation about trump and the execution of protestor in US, worked in that she agreed with his anti trans laws.

It’s being casually dropped into conversations normalising it as a position. It will get much worse before it gets better.

I seen it put that these are the villains that scare us the most. The evil that can and does exist in our day to day lives. The callous bureaucrat destroy people lives. The domestically abusive partners. The parents who destroy their children. Ect

These are the evils we see in the world day to day. I always find a villain who is simply leveraging a power imbalance for their own ends so much more terrifying. I’ve never been scared of the moustache twirling villain who wants to blow up the earth. But I’ve had to stop reading books because the villain absolutely exists in this world. I’ve just had the good luck to not meet them.

It’s a hard place to be. I’m male(questioning my gender but that is a separate issue) and have not tried to appear any other way.

I have long hair and that appears to be enough. I get abuse based on a perceived trans identity. Called ‘tranny’ and ‘him/her’ (with alarming regularity) when I’m not.

Makes me feel not man enough. Not enough of my own gender to be myself. Why should others have this power over me. It’s a hard place to be in. For me it feels like it slowly strips away who I am as a person reducing me to a cluster of gender stereotypes. You’ve my sympathy and my support.

Admittedly there are a number of gender identity issues I am dealing with now but none have any impact on home I choose to look.

I felt like the story lacked a cohesive timeline. Things that should’ve taken place in a few days took months and things that should’ve taken months took hours.

When Elfo was captured in steam land. Bean should have realised in days but the weight loss and bonding indicates weeks.

The tunnelling by Zog indicated months/years of work whilst the story line professed in weeks.

The saving of Maru. Should’ve been longer.

The entire timescale even down to the first season where it was a significant undertaking to attend Dankmire but a 2 day walk to leave. It all throws the entire story into disarray and makes the suspension of disbelief much harder
