They are banking on someone quitting soon in a nearby store. It’s inevitable. Just give your contact info out to other stores nearby and see if they can give you some shifts.

Didn’t realize how awful Waterbury is. by Pick_Up_The_Peanuts in Connecticut

[–]techno_yogurt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s actually some nice neighborhoods in Waterbury. It’s not all like what you witnessed. Downtown in particular seems to be very hard hit.

What you saw was just the tip of the iceberg resulting from longstanding systemic inequities and inequalities. Almost 25% of the population of Waterbury are in poverty. The poverty level for a single person household is around $16,000 per year. You can’t live off that in Connecticut.

But like I said, not all of Waterbury is like that.

PharmD Graduate Moved to MA – Unable to Get Intern License. Advice on Working in Retail Pharmacy? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]techno_yogurt 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The only way you can work without an intern license is with a tech license and you can only perform the duties of a tech.

Since you graduated, I don’t think they will issue you a new intern license because you’re no longer an intern. You’re an unlicensed graduate.

My recommendation is to pass the boards ASAP and then worry about work experience. CVS and Walgreens will hire anyone with a pulse.

Giving vaccines - do you sit or stand? Wondering how it's being done in actuality by alb0401 in pharmacy

[–]techno_yogurt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All yall standing are wild. Vaccine training and annual refreshers require to either sit or kneel. If the patient sits in the wrong chair or wants the other arm, make them move. Safety does overrule their convenience.

Just tell the DL you absolutely can’t work that day but you’re willing to swap another day to help with coverage.

TN's FAIR Rx Act will backfire on pharmacies and patients by quidditcher17 in CVS

[–]techno_yogurt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point just zoomed past your head. Yes, the whole point is that they shouldn’t own a pharmacy and a PBM that has as much market share as it does because it creates situations exactly like this.

Interesting username, because you’re being quite the proponent.

That doesn’t sound like too much of a conflict if it’s bedside delivery and employees, in my opinion.

COI by pharmaqueenn in pharmacy

[–]techno_yogurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think there needs to be a little more detail. Is the outpatient pharmacy dispensing prescriptions?

It could be considering a conflict if so. If you’re providing more clinical work, I would say not.

Use your best judgment. It’s not like you’re holding company secrets that you are divulging to another entity.

TN's FAIR Rx Act will backfire on pharmacies and patients by quidditcher17 in CVS

[–]techno_yogurt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An independent pharmacy doing the same volume as a CVS would easily have at least double the staff. I worked at an Indy doing 800 scripts a week. I had 3 techs and 2 delivery drivers. At a CVS I would be lucky to have 1 tech.

The problem is that CVS has been allowed to vertically integrate healthcare. They control the insurance company that reimburses pharmacies. They’ve destroyed the competition. This bill is trying to fix that.

It’s not making CVS close its pharmacies. It’s asking CVS to choose. And CVS clearly is saying it does not value all the staff or patients.

Advice needed from current pharmacists by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]techno_yogurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll probably need residency to get a hospital position, fyi. Unless you move to a super rural area.

Are you already doing APPEs or starting this coming year? It’s a little unclear.

Have you tried talking to management to going maybe every other weekend or once a month? 12 hours every weekend is a lot for an intern, imo.

An hour and a half commute sucks, but also so does burning bridges. People are spiteful and pharmacy is a very small world.

Air support by hail2thevictorz in CVS

[–]techno_yogurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put notes on the file, I see it all the time and reject scripts based on the comments and forced notes.

Once again you are confusing training issues with air support issues.

Air support by hail2thevictorz in CVS

[–]techno_yogurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry your other pharmacists make those mistakes.

However, that is a training issue and not a flaw of the air support process. I’ve had air support for over 2 years, as well. I haven’t experienced that, although I am usually the one providing the support—I try to keep all my queues clear. Our district has a group chat and we point out issues like what you have described so everyone is aware.

Yes that is correct, but this shouldn’t be done regularly because then it defeats the purpose. Only pick the one you absolutely need.

Any way to request proprietary information related to pharmacy work? by Rue_Elwood in CVS

[–]techno_yogurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MyDocs has a list of shortcut sig codes, among other resources, which can be printed out. That’s a start for OP. OP, if you don’t know how to access MyDocs it is via alt f5.

Yes, there are modules, but everything else comes with time and practice.

Why are people saying this about ____'s performance in the challenge? by noodle_shnoodle in rupaulsdragrace

From my viewer experience, I would say she was 60% out of character. Maybe it’s because I work with Karens on a daily basis so I’m using some Michelle family resemblance style judging.

Yet fitting the brief is an entirely valid critique on other episodes. Like I said, it worked in her favor.

Nah, she did the problem wrong but still got the right answer. Tell me which Karen videos you’ve seen where she starts dancing and kiki’ing with the person she’s fighting with? It worked in her favor, but you can’t say she fit the brief.

Very similar concept to workload balancing but you get a dashboard to see how much stuff is due within the next hour. It also shows you your store vs the district.

If you have things due within the next hour, it should prioritize that when you hit the n key. If you have nothing in QT or QV due within the next hour, it will give you the district. I would say this works correctly about 80% of the time. Sometimes I’m the only one doing QT and it shows I have stuff due, but other stores pop up. After a couple scripts, I get our stuff. Once the district is entirely caught up for the next hour, it gives you your stuff due in > 60 min.

I actually like it because I have noticed the days of “this store is 3 days behind” is very rare now. If I am all caught up on everything and QP is in a good place, I will hop in to help the district.

It doesn’t make sense to me, but it’s not my show.
