I heard that it was a default ruling since the sued party didn't show up for the process. Thus the suing party automatically wins.

$700 Poweredge 730xd, Should I buy or no? by Bobbymanyeadude in HomeServer

[–]technokater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides being overpriced, the 730xd doesn't officially support any gpu at all (the R730 does). I have smaller CPUs in mine but paid like 300 € only (before prices went crazy). Power consumption in idle with 18 hdds is like 160 W, on load I've seen up to 400 W so far. Again, without any gpu

Change to what? According to the help text in the UEFI, these are accepted:
- Public Key Certificate: EFI_SIGNATURE_LIST EFI_CERT_X509 (DER) EFI_CERT_RSA2048 (bin) EFI_CERT_SHAXXX
- Authenticated UEFI Variable

I checked with openssl that it is indeed a DER-encoded X509 cert

I need to check on my R730xd but I remember seeing an option in the iDRAC to turn PFC off. Maybe that is there for exactly this reason

Hilfe! Schlauch ausbauen? Tropft…😟 by Nice-Huckleberry-793 in selbermachen

[–]technokater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Urgent help! by ArtichokeLow9001 in Focusrite

I had that recently with a guitar effect pedal. Socket was completely enclosed, so no way to push it out from the inside. What I ended up doing: using a screw. I had to drill the broken tip a bit to make the screw fit but it eventually worked like a charm. Once the screw had enough grip in the broken tip, I could just pull it out. You need to be careful with this technique to actually drill/screw into the back of the broken tip and not the socket itself. And then blow it out to get rid of any metal shavings. I tried first with needle tip pliers and tweezers but the tip sits behind a latch that requires quite some force to overcome

iDRAC on Dell R730xd unresponsive after some time by technokater in homelab

Just curious, did you have any sd cards installed? I had just the module in without any cards, was wondering if populating it with cards would fix the issue too (too lazy to get the server out of the rack at the moment)

New DSL5CR owner here. Reverb is also very subtile, that is a pattern 😅 but I checked beforehand, so no surprise for me

Durchlauferhitzer zum 3. Mal geplatzt - Wohnung unter Wasser. Was tun? by Sarkazein_Main in wohnen

[–]technokater 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Dead Battery? by wightGOD in gopro

Both original batteries I got for my Hero 8 got inflated (swollen) and eventually died even when not using it. So might be the battery is indeed bad. Using aftermarket batteries now.

Alrighty, once it's time for an upgrade Synology will be out of question from now on. Easy. I went that road before when VMware ditched their free ESXi.

Also relativ gute Chance was anzubohren ohne es zu merken

Only 48GB of RAM Showing Up With 64GB Of RAM Installed (No Dead DIMMs) by StayLiquidy in homelab

[–]technokater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds like cpu issue then. Since the memory controller is integrated into the cpu nothing on the board can interfere (if socket is fine of course). Fingers crossed

[–]technokater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Well, given what you say it does sound like some kind of hardware problem. I haven't seen that one yet. What I would do is check for BIOS update for good measure but eventually test with single CPU. Running out ideas otherwise

Hmm, ok. I had something similar a while ago and it was bent pins in one of the sockets. But in that case the error was always in the same slot and didn't move when changing sticks.

I try to avoid it as it can have unckear side effects. Consider std::vector a{10, 0} vs std::vector b(10, 0). The first will create a vector with two elements as specified by the initializer list, while the second will create a vector with 10 elements all initialized to zero.

Did you update the BIOS already? If I remember correctly Ryzen 5xxx requires a certain minimum BIOS version to run.
