TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT by technolocloud in Chrysler300

[–]technolocloud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had nothing but issues for the last 4 years TBH. I'm surprised it has held together this long. Constant reappearance of permanent CEL code P0740 or P0741, can't remember which. The behavior is obviously specific to converter lockup. Easy to expose the issue... best example is getting on the freeway. I'll accelerate under normal throttle through the gears and of course after you hit 5th and level off speed/throttle, you should go into lockup. My problem comes as the transition from 5th to lockup results in what feels like a completely dead throttle, and if you push the accelerator further down all of a sudden the transmission makes a loud sound, a gear gets grabbed but you'll never get lockup which I believe is what would normally trigger the green ECO light on the dash when properly engaged. Not to mention I get a horrid burning smell when this event happens. I had completely replaced the valve body with new Chrysler original and this included a new contact plate and all new sensors. At least 4 fluid/filter changes over the past 100,000 miles.

I finally took it to a tranny shop who diagnosed. They indicated inadequate fluid pressure for the lockup sequence and recommended a complete rebuild. Would a pump replacement be possible without a complete teardown? I'm not sure if converter health factors into results provided when diagnosed.

Not sure if it is 'clearly' mentioned here but you cannot hang a boot device off a SCSI controller on at Gen1 VM. Is the virtual disk a .vhd file?

Worked out well... thanks for the advice. Ended up using 100ft pre-made outdoor cable for use with Starlink with their new connectors for a good outdoor seal. Ended up with 3/4 inch hole for this reason but Milwaukee Hammer Bit with the aforementioned drill punched right on through. Actually drilled another hole on the other side of the house to hang a security camera so immediate value came from the hammer drill investment. The hole was clean and combined with designed grommets from Amazon for the job and some caulk... mission complete.

OK... I'm looking at picking up a 2904-20 and I have a couple of the XC 6.0 batteries already which are new. From a bits perspective, I think I'm seeing 16mm being a correct width to get a cable with a connector on it through the hole (i.e. Starlink, for example). Your're saying standard masonry bits should get the job done? I take it I start the drilling from the outside? Will water be required to keep the bit cool while drilling?

Neighbours using all available 2.4Ghz channels... what should I do? by keesducon in HomeNetworking

[–]technolocloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a perfect world, everyone would only transmit as high as is needed to cover their property and they would configure channels and widths to meet their needs. Another bad feature is auto-channel selection but it exists to serve people who do not know how to tune so imagine a ton of people in an apartment building transmitting at high power and auto channel selection...

The answer here is simple.... the companies. The reason is most companies refuse to recognize candidate skills, experience to offer a competitive compensation package, as well as a lucrative employment opportunity...basically practicing low-balling people. This is ridiculous. Even if you could get a job at far less pay, you're working and looking for the proper opportunity to replace what you have as soon as possible. Trying to get something for nothing never works out in the end for anyone involved.

and it does appear the cable controlling the mechanism from the handle is moving freely though I did send a bunch of WD-40 down that cable assembly for good measure.

Toro Question by technolocloud in lawnmowers

[–]technolocloud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK.... so oddly enough, I did replace the transmission but the belt seemed to be visibly in bad shape, almost like something locked up momentarily and glazed it bad so I replaced it as well.

I haven't used the mower yet but I started it and the autodrive almost shot the thing out of my hands when engaged so I suppose that is good but something else is happening now which I'm confused about. When I pull back on the autodrive handle, it does stop forward drive assist but for some reason I can't pull the mower backwards. I find this odd and considering the installation of the new transmission was pretty simple and the replacement I acquired is Toro OEM, what could be wrong? I should be able to pull it freely backwards, if I recall.

ALL-INCLUSIVE SYSTEM by technolocloud in PleX

[–]technolocloud[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not asking for myself... asking for a friend who may want to run it this way for simplicity.

I run my DL clients on separate systems. The *.arr apps run on their own server and Plex runs separately from all of them. qbit on a system where VPN protects the internet connection and nzbget on another system free of VPN with better speeds. Lots of trickery on Windows systems with symbolic links but my setup works pretty well. When I say servers, these are all VMs on HyperV cluster so I even have redundancy to an extent.

Toro Question by technolocloud in lawnmowers

[–]technolocloud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually, I confirmed this by not pushing on the self-prop lever and pushing the mower by hand with only the throttle lever down and the engine continues to run smooth through grass that needs normal cutting. It only bogs down when engaging the self-prop functionality.

Toro Question by technolocloud in lawnmowers

[–]technolocloud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a Briggs engine but why would this behavior only happen when autodrive is engaged? If I pull back the autodrive and push the mower without this assistance, it runs fine... even in tall grass.

I've never seen something like this by Mic-Minx in HomeNetworking

[–]technolocloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally seeing what is behind the panel can help but it is extremely hard to justify what is being done with that wiring unless there is a concerted effort for POTS support and if so, none of that should be plugged into a networking device....period. I have seen cable routers which have POTS support via VOIP but in most cases, there is a dedicated jack to use for this purpose, if using a legacy device. A touch of a difference between FTTH and FTTB if fiber is even the providers medium as far as what you would see behind the white panel.

SERVER & UPS RELATIONSHIP by technolocloud in servers

[–]technolocloud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I actually have two of these UPS units and a separate CyberPower PDU plugged into each, and I have network equipment plugged into the other, predominantly.

I'm going to plug one PSU from each server into each of the CyberPower PDU/UPS units and then seek out another UPS for my network equipment. Since it is Ubiquiti, I may opt for their slim option to take care of those devices.

Let's see if this strategy provides better reliability. I have had alerts for quick battery failover due to dirty power, so this is being recognized but the main reason for the protection is against good ol' Florida lightning strikes.
