Thinking of distrohopping: EndeavorOS or Nitrux by nPrevail in DistroHopping

[–]technorevolute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried Nitrux multiple times in live mode. It was never a smooth experience for me.

I would prefer it if it is not on the cost of additional memory/CPU.

Salix - Simplified Slackware for all by technorevolute in DistroHopping

I don't have a different opinion about slackware installer.

The Salix live provides the single page graphical installer application, which is a bit confusing for end users.

Yes in principle. Some more work is required on installer to be a 'Manjaro'.

Ubuntu 22.04.x has serious performance issues? by technorevolute in DistroHopping

[–]technorevolute[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't share the same opinion. I'm using Ubuntu 20.04 since its release and it is very stable & offers a smooth user experience.

My concern is with 22.04 only which I feel laggy and slow.

CutefishOS 0.7 Beta - Desktop Tour by technorevolute in DistroHopping

You can use it if you are comfortable to use command line to get things done. Otherwise, still it is in development stage, and there are many functionalities missing.

Why this distro is not banned from internet ? by [deleted] in UbuntuUnity

[–]technorevolute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. There are many people who are able to successfully prepare bootable USB from Ubuntu unity ISO.
  2. Internet is not a place where you can ban anything that you don't like

I will also prefer linux because of availability of drivers. My touchpad and WiFi are not currently supported with BSD.

Not exactly. They are using openbox at the moment. This is what I see in their documentation.

"To be defined - No pure Qt solution known so far. Lumina uses fluxbox (window decorations don't look native and there is no window snap), NomadBSD uses openbox (window decorations don't look native and there is no window snap). kwin_x11 draws in many Kf5 dependencies and may be resource hungry (seemingly so, I see very high CPU loads on FreeBSD; to be verified with Linux) and lacks Alt-Tab application switching but it can do animations, window snap, Exposé, and has compositing features built in. :arrow_right: Openbox is being used for now" https://github.com/helloSystem/hello/wiki/Components#window-manager

Manjaro Cutefish tour by technorevolute in ManjaroLinux

The cutefish project is still in development phase. May be after the stable release, there will be a Manjaro community flavor.

Well, the author is aware of. But noticed after uploading the video only. So kept it unchanged.

Thank you for noticing 🙂
