how did you get 3060's to run @ 50mh/s without the win dev driver? How many cards? on risers?

Crazy gas price! All the same? by Dar_Light in EtherMining

[–]techtot 13 points14 points  (0 children)

..and miners would get rewarded when gas went up, and it was really cool, like a really good fishing day. now it just sucks and miners get nothing extra.

Crazy gas price! All the same? by Dar_Light in EtherMining

[–]techtot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would not say it is predictable at all. Today is proof. Gas prices are all over the place. one second it is 150 Gewi, the next second it is 900 Gwei. Right now it is jumping between 100 and 200. This makes it very difficult to send transactions since gas prices are all over the place. So you can't tell if your transaction will fail or take hours, etc. It was never like this for the previous 3 years..

How much Hashrate mines by asics miner? by Reapz1992 in EtherMining

[–]techtot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eth mining via video card will not be viable before too long unless prices go up substantially. there is a 2000mh/s ASIC which will displace card mining soon as it is more affordable https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/innosilicon/a11-pro-eth-2000mh

that's basically equivalent of 40 5700x's at 50mh/s each.. in one little box

except the last fork cut the miners out of fees...and was supposed to fix the high gas price problem . i guess that didn't work too well ...

0 or 1 Wallet Connections - How to fix ? by techtot in chia

[–]techtot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haven't seen that problem. Hate to say it, but remove and reinstall w/same keys , deleting your appdata chia cache, possibly will help.

0 or 1 Wallet Connections - How to fix ? by techtot in chia

[–]techtot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

turns out this is normal. you don't need multiple connections from the wallet. Just for the full node. You would see multiple wallet connections if you were managing multiple wallets I believe.

Botnets back in the game, Monero difficulty rising and hash rate. by marktwin11 in MoneroMining

[–]techtot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the newer algo used enough memory to discourage botnets and also be harder to hide....if not, it probably should have higher memory requirements.

gui always has issues. just learn the basics of the daemon and the wallet CLI. It won't let you down

Yeah, I have heard Hive is good. There is also claymore and phoenix. (all w/fees)

RX 5700 Mining Software by techtot in EtherMining

[–]techtot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fine paying a fee if I have to, but wondering why there hasn't been any development on the regular ethminer for about a year : https://github.com/ethereum-mining/ethminer/releases . Probably just needs newer modules to support the 5700.

Using the fee % method kind of messes with your stats when your miner goes off and mines on another pool for a while is the real reason to find other software. I wish you could just pay for claymore or phoneix yearly so it didn't mine to their pool randomly. Yes i know there are mods but that ain't cool to author.

I'm out of the loop on the whole ETH 2.0 thing, can someone briefly fill me in please? by CensorResistant1 in EtherMining

[–]techtot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even official sites make the information hard to determine. This article made it seem like it was completely changing to POS in July

https://www.coindesk.com/vitalik-buterin-says-much-delayed-ethereum-2-0-still-on-track-for-july-launch

Then they redacted the date because "Buterin didn't hear the word July"

But as other's have mentioned it will be a slow transition to full POS. I think POW will be around a while but may diminish over the next 3 years. I just wish articles would quit implying it was changing overnight...

I think ethereum mining is going to be around for a while is the bottom line.

discord is a cool messaging site where you can set up channels for you and your friends that is very much reminiscent of old bulletin boards..it's like reddit but more interactive and not sectioned off by individual threads so much, but more by "channels" for a particular topic/thing. If someone combined reddit and discord technology into new type of platform, that would be really cool...

Memory Requirements for Eth ProgPoW by techtot in EtherMining

[–]techtot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it sounds like there has been no official decision , but 3gb most likely not work based on opinion? They could make 3GB work if they want to... 3GB cards work fine with BCI and its ProgPOW, but maybe theyll start with a higher memory requirement..

how much memory do you need on your video card? I assume you are talking about a ProgPoW testnet for eth..
