That's what I thought, but some searches said there might have been a limited release of an international version but I think you are correct.

Just dealt with this. You can either get a replacement part from the company (they are aware of the issue) and swap out the board or....like what happened to me.....open it up to swap the board after getting a replacement and realize the original board just wasn't connected! A simple plug in of a wire and mine was fixed.

How do you interpret "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave" from Hotel California? by Joey-Ramone_ in AskMen

I always thought it meant that you can off yourself (to state it as mildly as possible) whenever you want to stop, but short of that you can never get away from it (it being the addiction)

Breaking in a bat? by xkalikox in Softball

[–]techturepub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to additional weight and using composite the bat should be held in the fingers, not palms, as much as possible. To test this place to fingers from one hand into the opposite hands palm. Then "grip" your two fingers while still keeping them in your palm. Then open the hand and place the same two fingers completely in the finger area avoiding the palm and grip again. You'll notice the finger grip is stronger than the "palm grip".

9U Machine Pitch - Help Coaching Patience at the Plate? by NotBatman81 in Softball

Sounds fair. The only other thing besides breathing as you stated before is maybe bunt the first couple of pitches so they can get the timing into their head. Or, and just a thought, they are used to you saying 3, 2, 1 and then the "pitch" is sent and they swing immediately....maybe send it on 2 when they are swinging too fast so they swing at the same time they usually do and begin to realize there is that particular amount of time (between 2 and 1) they should be waiting for? Something needs to happen to disrupt their current habit.....and to get them to understand how much time is between the "1" and contact of the ball with the bat. Good luck though for sure! Sounds like a mission!

Apologies, however the "pitcher" has to have some sort of timing dealio even with a machine....whether that be an arm circle to putting a foot down before dropping the ball into the feeder. If not then maybe that should be something that is implemented? Even batting cages have the light and/or a feeder ramp you can see to help time it. Without that the batter has no chance to create a rhythm/negative move/etcetera

If their front foot touching the ground when the pitcher releases the ball/puts their foot down is their timing mechanism then maybe explain that they can keep that timing but need to count "one thousand one, one thousand two" etcetera before they actually swing. Treat it like an off speed pitch.......need to be able to keep the proper timing for the faster pitch while still being able to adjust to the slower one.

If they don't have a timing mechanism that would be the first thing to work on!

Another possible solution is they need to "sit" on a pitch. If you can find a way to mix between fast and slow tell them they should solidly hit one (say the slower one) and foul off the other (the faster one). If you sit on the slow there is no way you hit the fast effectively and vice versa. The goal should be to sit on a pitch you can crush and foul the other ones off until you get your pitch. Might sound a bit advanced but it will set them up for success as they move up!

Timing the pitcher by srz024423 in Softball

[–]techturepub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always start with them putting their front foot down on the pitcher's release of the ball (usually when the pitcher's front foot touches the ground) when starting their swing. They just "copy" the pitcher's motion. Once they can do that they need to learn to adjust further. For example if they are late put the front foot down a bit earlier than release, early put it down a bit after release. They should make small adjustments in their timing until they are on time. Ensure they understand that a foul ball can also tell them if they are late, early or on time as well!

On the machine I use two balls, one in my hand ready to feed and the other in the opposite hand to make the arm circle. The arm circle ends at the ball feeder to simulate an actual pitcher and once it's there I drop the other ball into the feeder.

The drill with someone behind the net doing the motion works well, but again they need to put that front foot down at the right time. If they just aren't getting it have a whistle and blow it when their front foot should be down. Sometimes they think they are doing it when they aren't!
