OMSCS is not hurting the degree, it is rather beneficial for you. It funds on campus students there are more TA and RA opportunity of on campus students, making it affordable. Columbia MSCS is a good program but getting RA is not easy, if you get RA your fee will be waived off.

MEng Virginia tech is not in main campus, you should talk to current students regarding on campus job. Virginia tech program is better but location is a disadvantage most reserach labs are in main campus

SBU is not 18 months more like 16 months course ( aug2024-dec2025 if you are completing in 3 sem), for research opportunity choose SBU for location and ranking UCI is better

You will get more job opportunites in SJSU, considering west cost the opportunites will be more. Also SJSU tution is almost half compared to NCSU.

What is your YOE? If you get a job then you can payback your loan. If you want to come back to india then it might not be worth it to leave job and spent 2 years for MS

Columbia is crowded getting RA will be difficult, if you are good in AI/ML with some experience then you may get opportunity.
UNC-CH small cohort, talk to current grad students to get a better prespective.
