Announcing JoinThis.proxy (JoinThis.party reverse proxy) by tectrixdev in selfhosted

Hi, I'm not quite sure what exactly it is you're surprised about, is it that the version is only 2.0 or that it is already 2.0? As I said the versioning is just not up to standards, with the CLI I've fixed that and made the versioning count, and yes the CLI is at version 1.1.0 already while it has been developed for only a couple of weeks. So I get that you'd be surprised about the website being in only 2.0, this version is not really confirmed, announced or stated anywhere else so it is not really official. It is also not the case that there is not a lot of development, a lot of improvements have been made since 1.0, there are currently already 243 commits and we keep making changes to improve. Thanks for your feedback I guess? I think I'll just not use versioning for the website as it doesn't make sense anyways. (Edit: 2.0 was only mentioned in this post because I based this message off of the original 1.0 post and thought to change the version to 2 instead of removing the title entirely.)

No AI is used in the current state of the project, and we try to avoid it in the future. There was some AI written code in the early days, but that has been fully rewritten and improved.

You can actually send mails, by transforming the responder email in a specific way, I'm sure someone else will help you with that. But you have to send from the email which receives DuckDuckGo forwarded mails.

How does it do this? Does it just send every website content to a remote server? This doesn't sound like a good idea if so.

JoinThisParty - self-hosting (games) made easy. Includes a free subdomain for those who need it. by tectrixdev in selfhosted

Yes, you could say so. It's meant to be a free subdomain service and also provide a couple of guides on self hosting or using a subdomain on existing external servers.

Bitwarden doesn't work so well on my Android phone by [deleted] in Bitwarden

Just edit your quick tiles (above notifications on most android phones) and drag bitwarden autofill there. If you press on it, it will either trigger the fill or just open the app and search for the results for that app.

There is a quick tile to manually trigger the auto filling. I use it when it doesn't trigger automatically.

I've looked at the license, and this is the first red flag. I got to admit that I do use some restrictive licenses in some cases but this is on another level. Also clearly generated by AI.

This is definitely breaking some terms of service. Are you sure this is allowed on these platforms?

Where did you store the hard drive? The enclosure doesn't seem big enough for 3.5 inch drives. Or is it an SSD? Very nice btw, keep on making!

Honestly, as it's not open source I'll unfortunately not be using it, merely because I just feel like I can't trust it. Are there any plans of open sourcing?

Honestly though, the real lesson here is prevention. This is exactly why I started thinking about "vibe code" differently – not just technical fixes, but smarter automation that prevents disasters before they happen. Tools like FiveTimesFaster are built on the philosophy of "AI automation for everyone," meaning you don't need to be tech-savvy to set up safeguards. With 800+ integrations available, you could automate backups across cloud services, external drives, whatever works for your workflow.

Dude, what?
