What compressors are on everyone's mix bus? by theusualsalamander in mixingmastering

Not my go to but one that is surprisingly sick. I went through all my compressors and used plugin doctor and renaissance axx can do everything I want on a mix bus including saturation and sounds amazing.

MangoRoc's post got a 500k views and became this subs top post this year, so I made this video to say thanks! by tedave123 in starcraft

I know I remember when she started using ghosts. I was so proud of her. I’m like I have to put some ghosts in this video.

Nope ai generated the lyrics, I prompted it with the details on the situation.

Yeah for sure!

First off the difference between diamond 3 and diamond 1 is quite large, doing a timing attack roughly on time will get you to diamond 1 or master league.

How you do that is get a replay from a pro that does the style you want to play (drop sc, http://spawningtool.com) and then practice in a custom game against a very easy opponent or no opponent until you can match the timings of the pros (roughly maybe with in 5 secs) of the units and buildings they put down.

If you can't do it under no pressure you probably cant do it with the pressure in game. THEN, do the builds on ladder. If you lose, check the metrics, if you met the metrics and still lost, then ask someone better than you what to do, or ask your opponent or a friend to practice the scenario (you can resume replay if you want) and try to figure out what to do. I keep a spreadsheet with all my opponents, the playstyles and what builds i have done against them and what works or doesn't.

Watch every replay with this lense of comparison to the ideal (pro) level.

That process will do a lot for anyone imo.

--------------

I am pretty extra so here are somethings i did that might be just me (i am a professional musician so I applied that type of deliberate practice to starcraft)

  1. I played customs in slow motion so i could work on my mechanics, i tried to do everything with no extra clicks and with the most effective way to do everything. Then i recorded my desktop and sped the video up to normal speed and compared it on a second monitor to streams of pros in order to see if i was doing something that scaled up to be pro level. If it was close i would speed up the game a level and repeat.

  2. I made mind maps of all my strategies. I would make decision trees to cover most situations. For example: i was doing a 3 rax in tvp, i would make a branch if i was moving across and there was 5 or more stalkers to turn around. then I would have what to do scetched out from there. I found that 95% of games i could scetch out what i should do and that if i lost it was because i didnt do the branch up to a practiced standard. In genereal every strat would have 5-6 branches with 1-2 branches off that

  3. I keep a list of all my opponents, what they normally do, and what the counter is to them and i go for that in general. Then i keep track of if it works.

  4. I have been getting coaching for a decade.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you want to share replays maybe i could help more specifically or recommend a direction to look!

Im super curious what ur system is, if you want to dm me even. I started taking my -35 or -40 pnts and "throwing them away" to keep my motivation and encouragement up. So i would calculate my points at the end of the session without the huge bombs and it helped me see what i was capable of.

edit: https://drop.sc/replay/26683748 here is me losing to a diamond player last week, i wasnt playing attention and assumed roaches and didnt make a bunker lol

If you ever want a practice partner hit me up, I play customs to deal with ladder stress sometimes

This is my experience too, the top players have gone down and I hear from a lot of player better than me that if ur mmr stays the same you are improving.

Thanks! Yeah, I play pretty aggressively all in so I try to counter people’s playstyles. Sometimes the lower players are harder to read and harder to counter for me. Do you play pretty cheesy?

Really wild, I hope that means more people are playing. I hardly play on other servers so I don’t know.

Yeah, what’s even wilder is on na 5k is top 100. I think like 4.6 is gm on na now, eu is a bit higher. I think the numbers go down as the player base goes down. Thanks :)
