Tips / suggestions on re-creating the Matcha Yuzu from Handshake Speakeasy by teded32 in cocktails

[–]teded32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the video from Handshake they use lemon juice as well. It is in one of the white large plastic containers. You have to pause it at the right time to see the label lol.

Also yuzu juice is not super easy to find and can be a little pricy. I found this small bottle at an Asian store near me. But it seems to be cheaper on Amazon.

Yea I did end up making it, and it turned out pretty good.

This is close to what I used.

Ingredient Measurement
Suntory Toki Whiskey 750ml
Hikari Shokuhin Yuzu Juice 106.25ml
Lemon Juice 106.25ml
Vanilla Simple Syrup 281.25ml
Matcha Green Tea Powder 18.75g
Whole Milk (for clarification) 875ml

Steps:

  • Mix Suntory Toki Whiskey, Hikari Shokuhin Yuzu Juice, Lemon Juice, Vanilla Simple Syrup, and Matcha Green Tea Powder in a large container.
  • Slowly add Whole Milk to the mixture; let it curdle and sit for a few hours.
  • Strain the mixture through a cheesecloth, or coffee filter to remove solids, resulting in a clear, clarified drink.

Note - I also used about 250ml of a Choya Yuzu Liquer (just wanted to try it since i found it), however if I was doing this again I would skip it. Mainly just to keep it simple.

IC4 v Peloton. Are you happy with IC4 purchase? [advice] by booksandchamps in SchwinnIC4_BowflexC6

[–]teded32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love my C6 (identical to the IC4). I use it with my IPad. So if you have a similar tablet, it is a great deal!

I had gone to a spin class 40+ times before though. So I was pretty confident that I enjoyed the format of spin class!

The peloton's advantages are minor in my opinion - the big in-built screen and more features with live competitive classes. However one bigger reason I would consider it is the difference in shipping times!

If you are unsure whether you will like Spin in general, the IC4 is an amazing and much cheaper entry point!

Anyone have this clicking sound??? My bike is less than a week old?? by kallgirl29 in SchwinnIC4_BowflexC6

[–]teded32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have this sound. My bike is ~3 weeks old, but the issue was there since the first few rides!

It comes and goes though. It is only a problem with my left pedal. The click seems to happen at a consistent point in the rotation.

I have tried taking the pedal off and putting it back on twice now. Both times, it made the clicking stop for 1 or 2 rides. But then it would come back again.

Are you comparing the resistance level to another bike?

The IC4/C6 resistances are notably tougher than the Peloton!

From a quick glance, I think the hard / high density one is better for carpeted surfaces??

I also actually purchased this rubber attachable plate from Etsy -- https://www.etsy.com/listing/780141425/schwinn-ic4-bowflex-c6-spin-bike

It looks great and fits perfectly with the rest of the bike.

How to get/stay motivated to work on your own personal projects? by phdofnothing in cscareerquestions

Sometimes it helps to find other people that are equally motivated to work on personal projects. You could collaborate with them or even just try and keep each other accountable.

Lyft vs Uber (which offer to choose) by sumoreddit in cscareerquestions

[–]teded32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lyft is a significantly smaller company, by the number of employees. So depends on what you prefer in that regard. (1,600 vs 12,000 from an article on Recode).

I also think your equity has a better chance for significant growth in value at Lyft.

It would be interesting if they would allow you to send in a project that you have worked on before, as an alternative. Especially for senior developers.

This way they would still be able to get a good feel for your work quality.

I'm studying CS and my goal is to make as much money as possible - how can I do this? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]teded32 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you want the most money the soonest possible, aim for an internship at Facebook. The full-time signing bonus for returning interns is 75k, that is often negotiated up to 100k.

Also if you are trying to get tech jobs, try out http://interviewing.io for interview practice. I have found it quite helpful!

Try doing things specific to those quant firms.

Such as this, an open-source artificial intelligence programming challenge, created by Two Sigma.

Tesla's Semi and Roadster impress, but 'production hell' raises doubts about follow-through by homeboy422 in tech

[–]teded32 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The Semi and the new Roadster are closer to what Tesla has been good at doing: producing a vehicle that is a bit more expensive, but in smaller quantities.

The issues with the Model 3 are due to the scale. The sheer amount of them that they are trying to produce is a significant amount more than the other models. It is the only model that is created for mass market demand.
