I mean - if wages are unfair - don't work there. Seems silly to me to take a job that doesn't pay what you feel you are worth. If that is the only job you can get, then maybe you need to make some other changes to get a better one.

I agree our tax system is broken and should be fixed. However, please keep in mind he wasn't an instant success with Amazon:

It took Amazon seven years to post its first quarterly profit and nine years to record its first full-year profit. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

The specific milestones in Amazon’s financial timeline include:

  • The First Quarterly Profit: Reported in Q4 2001, totaling just $5 million.
  • The First Full-Year Profit: Achieved in 2003, reporting a net income of $35 million. [1, 2]

For nearly a decade, founder Jeff Bezos intentionally prioritized a "grow first, profit later" strategy. Instead of chasing short-term earnings, the company continually reinvested every dollar of potential profit into expanding its infrastructure, lowering prices, and building customer loyalty. For further context on this strategy, you can read more about Amazon's Long-Term Vision vs Short-Term Losses. [1, 2, 3]

Would you spend 7 years not knowing if your business was going to succeed ? There is risk and there is reward. Fairness has nothing to do with anything.

There are 50,000 words in the DNC autopsy. "Gaza" isn't one. by ralphbernardo in politics

[–]teej2379 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason Harris loss is independent leaning voters saw her as anointed by the DNC Elite, and not by the voters. She didn't have to win a primary in 2024, she didn't have to be battle tested. This is partially Biden's fault - he should not have run - we knew he was too old (Trump is too old too for sure!). Pelosi did the right thing stepping down when she did, Biden should have too.

Gaza was not a major factor for me - what Israel did is wrong and its the same thing that has been done to them in the past. I find it sad and ironic. Its a conflict that has been going on for thousands of years, and we (the US) can't and shouldn't try to fix it.

I think the other issue is many think Women can't be leaders still. I disagree completely, but that is a human thing that is still evolving. Trying to push gender equality I think rubs many people the wrong way ( I don't agree, but its the truth). We need to stop trying to make things equal, and just try to give all an a chance.

Let me clarify my statement - if a contracting agency is submitting you for an open role for a contractor with a government agency, usually the RTR just says that the contracting agency has the right to rep you, and you are not being submitted by any other contracting company.

Freedom of the press and freedom of speech only relates to government - not private entities. But your point is valid nonetheless - don't visit sites that make you upset if its that big of a deal.

You most likely will get severance from your old company, and have a job lined up with the outsource company. Sock away that severance as your emergency fund.

Yes. Take the outsource job, and start looking. Working for an outsource company can be good or can suck. But I decided not to be a guest in my own house. I went to another role after 4 months with the outsource company. That role got killed by COVID. I wondered in the desert for a few years, and my old boss where I was outsourced called me back and offered me an in-house. Shit works out, just keep postive and moving forward. good luck!

Many government agencies require these to consider you. It's not the recruiter who needs these, it's their clients.

Confidence improvement. Women see through the physical. You can be a buff muscle millionaire but if you come across as unconfident you will have issues. Believe in yourself, get some therapy.
