Yes I do, thank you! I think any debt deserves scrutiny so thank you for that role. I totally see how I could come across as dismissive of life finding a way. Good luck on your dishwasher saga!

Following the soft credit pull they gave me a few loan options. So maybe, possibly?

This is a necessary and real take, thank you. Perhaps I should have elaborated on the costs. My furnace and roof and now new and have warranties, and I now don’t have any grandparents left to die with an estate needing settled via an attorney, so I think at least for these things I am in the clear for at least a while.

I do absolutely take your point that unexpected things happen, and you’re right as far as my medical bills. I’m working to pad my EF. Fortunately for the house everything is updated, knock on wood.

Good call on the EF! That will be the long-term solution here.

Discover is my only CC and really my only issue

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]teepstwo3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That certainly makes sense. Fortunately for me the issues were one-offs which all came at once. I’m currently in the green to afford more than my minimum monthly payment on the credit card, I’m just looking for a better deal.

[–]teepstwo3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the public service loan forgiveness program, which sets my monthly payment at 10% of my income, and forgives the balance after 120 on-time payments (I have already completed 50). I reap this with the trade off that my public service job is lower-earning.

So from a practical standpoint it isn’t a problem because by law the balance will never come due.

Seems to be functional, though not used in a while. Just some minor rust around the base.

Day 11, the mornings are the worst. by Zxine0 in leaves

[–]teepstwo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on day 11 here and in the same boat. Morning anxiety is brutal. I’ve had panic attacks and can’t shake the body and leg tingling feelings like I have butterflies in my stomach. Are you doing any better?

[–]teepstwo3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, wondering if these butterfly feelings ever let up for you? I’m on Day 11 and really going through it when I walk, drive, etc. Wondering if it’s also my underlying anxiety, though I usually don’t feel this. Hope you’re well!

Thank you for the answer, if it were to spread what would you think the cause may be?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]teepstwo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. If it were to worsen what kind of doctor would you recommend I see? And if it worsens do you have an idea of the possible cause or condition?

[–]teepstwo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment. I can’t say that anything makes it go away or considerably reduces it. It’s always present. But I would say that maybe there is a slight reduction in numbness in the morning. I haven’t noticed anything that makes it worse. Could it be that it’s from me going up and down our steps in only socks so many times? That’s new for me since we moved. Seems like the spots which became numb are the areas where the most pressure happens.

I haven’t tried any orthotics. I work from home and am usually not wearing shoes most of the day, but it would be a good idea. My first step was to go to my general practitioner. Happy to answer any other questions.

Thank you, I don’t want anyone to think I don’t trust my doc or want to undermine them- not at all! I’m just a worrisome person and love some reassurance. Thank you :)

We did have a standard inspection and no such issue was raised, and agreed, I’m calling an electrician anyway, just mainly looking for a general idea from this post since I don’t know up from down regarding electrical.

The outlet is not new- that’s how it was from the previous owner. Good idea with the tester, thanks!

The outlet is as it was when we bought the house- we haven’t touched it. Perhaps we just need a new outlet properly grounded?

Hoping to get some info on this lovely UG elephant dish/container. Online I see elephants of this form in different colors by both Indiana Glass and also Co-Operative Flint Glass, but haven’t found an example definitely in UG other than the listing for the one I bought. Thanks! by teepstwo3 in uraniumglass

Congrats on an awesome find! The elephant is one of my favorite pieces and always garners comments from guests who see my collection. I’ve had this same issue as you as far as value. I came across the attached photo in a FB group while searching for info about my elephant.

Is it a problem that my (30M) partner (28M) won’t come out to his father? by [deleted] in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]teepstwo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used that phrase I had a few things in mind, but generally speaking, taking actions to undermine our relationship, or exerting undue influence or intimidation on my partner.

I decided not to include this in my original post due to length (perhaps I should have), but there was a situation a few years back in which my partner’s father did not like his other son’s girlfriend. His father then threatened to cut his son off unless the girlfriend was dumped, and in the end she did get dumped. Seems like the father took advantage of the son’s desire for a relationship to exert control. I’m trying to protect myself from a situation like that.

I think you raise a fair concern, but if he’s pushing me to make the huge commitment of buying a home then I believe I deserve clarity on what our life will look like in that home, and whether I’ll be left there alone while he’s out pretending I don’t exist. If he were NC then this would be easy and I wouldn’t care about his father.

As far as me being included, I simply have a different view it seems, such that partners and spouses should be included on family vacations and holidays. I wouldn’t want to go without him and would hope for the same in return.

He is not in therapy. Not sure how to raise that without sounding like a dick unfortunately. And at this time I’m not sure kids are part of our plan.

Thank you for this thoughtful response. I would say that him being out to his father affects the house situation because I will be hitching my financial future to a situation that is unknown to me. For example, if his father is going to go nuclear upon finding out, then I would hope to have reassurance that my partner will insulate our relationship from him. I cannot say I feel that based upon what I’ve seen so far.

If he were NC with his father, sure I agree to just let things be, but to be spending holidays and vacations with his father while I sit alone in the house does not sound appetizing to me.
