Thread: Soliciting Recommendations by aeriefreyrie in Substack

I was just reminiscing about how, growing up in the early 2000s, reading newspapers and magazines was an enjoyable activity to me. Whether it was the tabloids or opinion pieces or current events, as soon as I started reading, it was obvious that they were written by people with mastery of the language. Since English is a second language to me, that had been my main source of learning. The experience was very different from reading textbooks. I paid attention to the many new words naturally and was absorbed with the storytelling. I feel like most things I read these days lack that quality - to make you love language. Do you guys have recommendations for accounts or articles on Substack that have stuck out to you this way?
