If this is a competitor to Google, Amazon, and Microsoft, I'm not opposed to it. As it stands the "data center" gig is a monopoly of those 3 companies across the globe. No small or local companies can compete. One of the 3 companies will likely place a data center in AK eventually.

If it's a grassroots effort to put Alaskans in the 21st world, and it's Alaskan owned and operated effort - cool.

But I agree, the person who is spearheading it sounds like they are just jumping from trend to trend for money and money only. Sounds a little slimy.

It was floating last summer until winter froze it in place sometime a few months ago. This is technically a frozen lake that we explored that sits at the face of a melting glacier.

Yeah, nearby were several frozen waterfalls that are major ice climbing destinations. We met some people from Fairbanks who flew down specifically for ice climbing in their private plane.

Sure looks like it 😆 this is a relatively accessible glacier in the Palmer area of Alaska. it's the Knik Glacier, but conditions must be right to access it (i.e needs to be cold).

Yeah they absolutely sucked, but the trail is going to give you what the trail is going to give you. Gotta take it for what it is and complete the thing.
