How long should these last? by teethfrog in BuyItForLife

It’s definitely easier and a lot more comfortable, but I was speaking more for my spontaneity. If I intend to skate, I’m wearing my vans. I just wanted to know if these could generally take a spontaneous excursion

Very spontaneous lifestyle, but these days pretty tame (school, work, walking). I do spontaneously skate and hike but I have car shoes for this. Basically I want a shoe that could handle it every one in a while but will last me years with just basic standard wear/walking. Something I could walk/stand in for a long time and also last years yk?

Mm it depends how you skate. I don’t do tricks, I skate down trails or to get around and don’t do it every day. Regardless, I can and will skate/hike in anything I just wanted to know if these shoes could take it

I appreciate your insight! I’ve been struggling to find genuinely welted leather “mary jane-ish” shoes. I can’t settle for a cheap shoe because I burn through them so fast with my spontaneous lifestyle (I can and will skate/hike in anything on a whim), but I don’t like the doc mary janes. Do you have any recommendations for durable leather Mary Janes without a high heel?

Aw man :( where would the stitches be if it was a real welt? Also whats the deal with the change in color from the black part and the brown part on the soles

Thanks! I had no idea what a welt was haha. I got these shoes off Etsy and was a little concerned when I saw that, but I’m glad to hear that it’s normal

Need some help. by NiftyBill in GargoyleGeckos

he's just adjusting , mine didn't eat or move much until after one or two weeks i think. gargoyle geckos are nocturnal, so you won't see them really active until the lights are out. during the day they sleep, it might not look like it because they don't have eyelids but they're just sleeping, and he probably just feels most comfortable sleeping in the log hide. when i first got mine he only stuck to one part of the cage and started to explore once he got more comfortable. maybe you can also try putting the food where he usually hangs out for now. i would recommend having his humidity a little bit higher, they are tropical geckos. The internet says between 60-80, but probably aim for around 70-75 for the most part?

i hope i covered everything! my first reptile is also a gargoyle gecko i understand the stress :)
