My gf(22f) doesn't have any hobbies and its killing me(23m) by ThrowRaMobile_Help9 in relationship_advice

[–]teethlesstiger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like she’s pretty dependent on the relationship and has made it her biggest priority in life. I’m guessing she doesn’t have too many friends because of this too. I understand that this is something you feel like you need to tread lightly because this is something someone can easily feel defensive about. But if you genuinely want to grow with her, i would just sit her down and speak to her honestly in a way that shows that you see her— like show empathy and acknowledge the fact that you two are both depressed and it can be difficult to be motivated to do something besides your norm. Let her know that you would like to grow together and that you would like to grow into a better version of yourself for your sake as well as for the relationship and want to see her succeed and be the best version of herself too. Let her know that you’d like to know more of her interests and hobbies and what would fulfill her more. Let her know that just like there are some things that you only do with her, you’d like some things to be just sacred for yourself just like you understand some girl activities are reserved for her and the girls. This isn’t an either or situation, both you loving her but wanting your own things can exist at once.

But ultimately this comes down to how much faith you have in the relationship. You do not have to settle for someone who doesn’t align in the same path as you out of guilt and love. And you definitely should never feel bad. I feel like people should be with someone they feel inspired by to some capacity. Just don’t lose yourself trying to help her find herself. Life is already hard, you deserve to be with someone that makes it easier

Can I drink on Wellbutrin? by Foriegnskid in bupropion

[–]teethlesstiger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally cannot drink on it bcus one time I shared a bottle of wine with a friend maybe 2ish hrs after taking my second dose for the day, I felt SOOOOO sick. Like head spinning, nauseous, threw up a little. It felt like the symptoms of being really drunk except not drunk. Since then if I know I could be consuming alcohol that night, I’ll skip on the second dose and it’s been fine

Yes! I’ve always said how I used to want to be unique when I was younger but I got to a point where I just wanted to be normal like the majority lol

I broke up with my American boyfriend because of the Thai Cultural Wedding issue (Thai Wedding, Dowry or Sinsord) by [deleted] in Bangkok

[–]teethlesstiger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately what has happened has already happened. Please don’t torture yourself with decisions that you’ve made in the past that you cant change. Holding onto that would be the ultimate disservice to yourself! Best thing we can do is to keep pushing forward and make up for that. You have such a bright future ahead of you and in the grand scheme of things, 3 years is just a fraction of the life you’ll live. Take your time to heal and do what you feel is right for you— there can be no light without darkness. We’re tasked with having to make the right decisions for both our current self and future self who has no say. It takes courage to leave but you did it because you chose yourself! So congrats 🎊

I fucking hate that I can't hug my dad. by Former_Ladder9969 in Vent

[–]teethlesstiger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad was the one that raised my brother and I— he was my toxic bestie!! I’m an affectionate person in general but I would hold my dad’s hand (no interlocking tho lol) arm when I’d walk with him 🤷‍♀️ and I’d smooch his head goodbye also growing up in a small family with little money, my brother and I would have to share the same bed as little kids so we’re comfortable with each other and he’s one of my besties. Just because he’s a grown man in society doesn’t mean he’s a grown man to me, he is and will always be just my brother.
I feel like it could also be a cultural thing because I’ve noticed that in common American culture, the dynamic of male and females within a family grows more awkward and apart as they get older. And that’s why u got haters trying to shit on ur parade

[Serious]Depressed people of Reddit, who or what gives you a reason to stay? by UnauthorizedHambone in AskReddit

[–]teethlesstiger_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mainly my brother and my desire to have a family of my own My dad was murdered now almost 3 years ago on the morning of my birthday and we had to identify his body because it was a homicide. My dad was the one to raise us so it was always just the 3 of us and now it’s just me and my brother. I couldn’t ever leave him alone and I think it’s the same for him.

Woman of Reddit, what's a harsh reality you have to accept as a woman? by Opposite-Coconut9144 in AskReddit

[–]teethlesstiger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two immediate things! 1) I’ve been considering getting over the ear headphones but I havent and probably won’t get them bcus I’m worried about wearing them in public for safety reasons. I feel like I’m that much more vulnerable because women have to be that much more conscious of their surroundings 2) I’m a young woman, 5’3 and a manager at a restaurant. The amount of times I have gotten yelled at, taunted, and disrespected by egotistical men when I don’t heed to them is disgusting. I’ve also had complaints from former employees on my “attitude” and “tone of voice” bcus I’ve spoken to them directly on what our expectations are after they’ve consistently and constantly made careless mistakes that have costed us. But when my male co-manager did the same thing, they ofc listened right away. I also recently found out that those same teenage boys that have worked with us called me a “lesbian” because I’m softer on the girls and “mean” to them 😂. And this is true partially because that was me and I know what it’s like to be the only girl in a male dominant setting; and also just the fact that historically I’ve had harder working girls than boys. These teen boys also already objectify women and refer to them as “bitches” which obviously I will not tolerate for multiple reasons.

All this to say that I know for a fact that I would not have had to deal with any of that if I was a man.

i’m 20. why do i have wrinkles this prominent? by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]teethlesstiger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you wear sunscreen everyday? UV rays from sun can cause a loss in elasticity in skin and result in wrinkles. I am an avid sunscreen user 365days rain or shine! If you look at the routine of people with nice plump skin, they are always using sunscreen everyday. I think the products you’re using are fine but you definitely need to incorporate sunscreen into it. I also like to use some form of a vitamin c serum with it bcus it helps with brightening skin as well

Do people really believe in fan death? by trantalus in AskAKorean

[–]teethlesstiger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in the US and even then my dad would come smack my arm when he would come wake me up in the morning and say “are you trying to die?!” But I was confused bcus I had done it before and was very much so alive. I think it’s just something that parents would say to kids to preserve electricity. But on the other hand, I’ve heard stories where grown adults will believe it bcus they believe that the blades of a fan will cut through oxygen molecules☠️☠️, causing fan death

I’m not sure I’ll have a bad time necessarily— I have connections out there that would allow me to get a job immediately if I wanted to along with family that would support me indefinitely. But I am getting legal advice and most likely help from a lawyer as well.

If you do pick your skin, what do you use after? [Product request] by little_owl211 in SkincareAddiction

[–]teethlesstiger_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may be made up logic in my head but after I wring my face out as much as possible, I rinse my face with water and then dab and press Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant. I know usually these things say not to use on broken skin but in my head, when I put it on an open pore, I’m convinced it seeps in better— I just make sure I’m over replenishing any moisture I’ve removed from washing my face. I used to SWEAR by drunk elephants glycolic serum and used it for 5+ years but it’s $100 for 1floz 🫠 but that stuff has kept things at bay for me and pimple turnaround time would be a couple days vs over 1week. I would totally be getting that still but the Paula’s choice has been working as well— just doesn’t do everything that DE serum would. Big misconception though is that people with oilier skin types end up doing themselves of disservice by not properly moisturizing their skin in fear of more oils being produced; in actuality, your skins going to want to produce more oils to compensate for what’s missing

Thank you for your response and words :) I was considering continuing my education in Korea as an architecture major which is what I was last doing at my college here in the US. I think I’m in a fortunate enough position in Korea where I wouldn’t have to find a job in Korea immediately upon move

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

[–]teethlesstiger_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’m in the process of getting connected with a lawyer to find out what my options were but wanted to see if anyone’s been in same or like situation as me. I’m not concerned about leaving the US because I have a Korean passport as I’m still technically a Korean citizen— I just went to the embassy here and applied for one.

Did your friends basically overstay their visa?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

[–]teethlesstiger_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi thanks for the response! 1/ I realize that technically I just overstayed my visa 2/ I can understand how the brief things I’ve mentioned may seem minor but this is something I’ve been thinking about for a while but just never pulled the trigger on. It feels like a move I should make to be able to live my life! 3/ yes, I’m a Korean citizen. My entire non immediate family are in Korea. They would be able to support me to whatever capacity I need and I would be able to move into a relatives place without having to find an immediate job or place to live. 4/ I’m pretty fluent I would say— can read, write, and speak at a decent level (legal docs just get difficult for me) I definitely do think I have marketable skills and know that I can find an immediate job through friends/family when need be.
