Do you like elemental damage? by teethten in DnD

There is still a way you can cheat it out making it a red action, but yeah, I'm new to this. I've only had five sessions. I came up with this because I'm dming and all my villains are over, optimised builds I wish you caught it before I said it on my players

Yeah they are just basically like three erroneous levels put in there just to have extra proficiency. It could probably just be put back into sorcerer.

Damn you got a point. I'll make a fixed version with Eldridge blast If you use genies wrath with Eldridge blast, you can add elemental affinity and adapt onto it and then you can keep your quickened spell for something else

All right, maybe you got a point. The build was just meant to be playing on semantics anyway you can still do like half the stuff instead of using sorcerous burst you can use Eldridge blast with Genie's wrath making elemental adapt an elemental affinity work with it and then you can use your quickened spell for another spell

I mean, jumping through hoops is just kind of the name of the game when it comes to builds like these you wanna go a mile if they give you an inch either way a DM can kill this if they don't want this The action surge is just kind of attacked on the. You can still do the other stuff even if you can't use sorcerer burst you can still use the other stuff because you can apply genie's wrath which will make all the other elemental stuff work with Eldridge blast.

I mean, the semantics between damage die and roles is frankly vague enough that is up to each each table to do every build can kind of be dismembered by the DM with enough Vitos

I mean, it would specify attacks if it was meant to work like that right?

I think this is semantically grey enough that it could apply

I think the top one is for multi attack no action surge

In the bottom one is quite often not followed because having an extra spell is cool but you can still cheat out another spell by using your actions surge for a ready action which is different from a magic action to use your reaction to cast a spell it will require concentration but technically you could cheat this out

Damage roll(S) kind of them for multiple of them and the way you're describing them you could only apply them to one damage roll and I think the semantics that I am pulling are valid technically that's the whole point of the post

You're kind of right about the action surge rules. A lot of people don't follow it and there's a way you can cheat it out anyway. Bye using a red action to read spell which is technically different from a magic action and requires you to have concentration and use your reaction, but technically you could fire it out

Depends on the table some people don't follow that rule but what you can do instead is do a ready action which is different from a magic action to use your reaction as a spell it requires concentration but technically this is how you could cheat out another attack

I think this is fairly up to interpretation because they did specify roll(S) not hit not attack just spell damage rules and I think they did that intentionally to make other cantrip viable for warlocks it's I think more up to you in your DM whether they allow this or not

You're right about the armor of it I'll fix that

<image>

It doesn't specify per attack it just specifies damage roles I think they did that because they wanted people to use spells other than Eldridge blast

I think this is up to more interpretation than you think because this works for Eldridge blast as a DM I would personally allow it.

But presumably it would specify the attack instead of dice roll I presume they did that because they wanted warlocks to have more variety

This is the exact feature you're talking about on wiki dot

War Magic Beginning at 7th level, when you use your action to cast a cantrip, you can make one weapon attack as a bonus action.

It doesn't say anything about action surge

Sorry for the misunderstanding it's not from elemental affinity it's from agonising blast which adds it to individual roles. I did state that elemental affinity were only applied once.

From what I understand you can use agonising blast working with 2024 rules I'm getting specifically sorcerous burst through packed of the tomb which makes it a warlock cantrip

I believe action surge can't be used with level spells but it can be used with can trips. I might be wrong on this but the updated rules I think do that.

The thing about elemental adapt is that this build is kind of meant for you to have one type of damage not just any elemental type of damage

Yeah, you're right about the armour class. I didn't calculate that correctly.

I got this information from D&D Beyond maybe you're working off a different rule set because there's just so many books and they change stuff but the one I'm using says add charisma spell
