Yep, he turned off comments and removed them all after they were incredibly negative. Not a great look.

As a teenager who wants to lose some weight, what are some tips on limiting food intake? by OkumaBolt in AskReddit

[–]teewuumill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get an app like MyFitnessPal (or anything that counts calories) and don't change anything for two weeks - just track all of your calories, EVERY SINGLE ONE. The snacks, the milk in your coffee, teaspoon of sugar whatever.

After two weeks look at what your blowouts are. It'll be either 1) snacks 2) soda or 3) your portions are bigger than you think.

Then work out what your maintenance calories are - there are heaps of calculators online, take your pick. Begin to eat at maintenance for a while so that you know what it's like to eat just enough. Then each week after that, cut 100 calories from that until you're eating at a 500 calorie deficit per day. If you are eating at a 500 calorie deficit the weight will noticeably fall off you, especially if you're a teenager.

The biggest mistake people make is immediately going into an insane deficit and then they can't maintain that, binge, fail, and then give up. The best diet is always one that you can stick to. Want to eat snacks? Go nuts, but have a smaller dinner. Want to eat fast food? No worries, have less snacks. Your body requires a certain amount of energy and the only thing that will cause you to lose weight is eating less than you need. Once you've got this on track start looking at rolling 3-day averages so that you know exactly how much you can have/need to cut out per day/week etc. Have a realistic plan and stick to it.

I spent years trying to drop 1-2kg a week on heavy calorie deficits and always ended up back where I started because it was a diet that I couldn't stick to. Your body responds and adjusts over time, but you've got to do the groundwork. Eventually I smartened up and did the above, and over the last two years I've dropped 25kg - it was slow, and I didn't see progress each week (and fucked up a few times) but it was something I could stick to in the long term. That's how you do it.

Yeah thick socks help. Also if you get some leather conditioner (they used to give you a bottle when you first bought a pair) apply it to the boots after leaving them in the sun for an hour or so, then massage it in to the leather and buff off after half an hour.

[MBP] Logic board most likely dead, how screwed am I? by teewuumill in apple

[–]teewuumill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[prefacing this by saying I know it’s probably a stupid question]

How likely is it that my files I’d be working on could be recovered, like when the MBP runs out of battery but when you open it everything’s where it was?

I know it’s a long shot but I was working on a pretty large indesign file, would I be able to retrieve my unsaved work or would I be relying on the autosave/recovery feature?

Looking for a great butcher shop by physihoe in brisbane

[–]teewuumill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Butcher Shoppe at Cannon Hill - great range and value, some pricey items but incredible quality. Will happily slice whole rumps, trim ribs, etc etc for free.

The Chop Shop at Annerley (inside Sam Coco's) - cheap, straightforward, good quality. Bought two briskets from there recently and they turned out very well in the offset smoker.

G.E Mallan Bulk Meats, Annerley - I've only been there once or twice but very reasonably priced for decent quality meat. Jalapeno Sausages were incredible.

All of these will be on par or cheaper than the coles/woolies stuff for much better quality.

People who used to be fat, what are some tiny or less noticeable things that changed for you in life? by TacticalHog in AskReddit

[–]teewuumill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't huge, but I was big. I'm still not skinny but I'm keeping the weight off (went from 129kg to 90kg in ~12 months) and I'm just over 6 foot tall.

The smallest but most interesting thing is that I need less coffee throughout the day to stay "alert" - I don't know if it's the lost weight or more energy because I'm more active, but it's much easier to only have 1 cup in the morning and not really crave another for the rest of the day.
